Work-from-home insurance forensic job
Forensic Consultant (Former Employee), Missouri – October 12, 2012
Pros: work from home, set own schedule, work outdoors, excellent pay and benefits
Cons: safety concerns for two story and higher roofs, not a licensed se firm in il
This position could be more accurately described as engineering support for insurance claims. The work duties do not match the job description too much; you will not do much 'structural engineering' in the more commonly recognized sense. Also, most of this work involves inspecting roofs without fall protection, which isn't a big deal on ranch style homes, but can be an issue on the many steep pitched two story roofs that you are expected to access.
Roof inspections, water intrusion, foundation movements are the bulk of the projects at this firm. An occasional structural job with analysis, etc.
The firm is licensed for PE work in IL, but not SE work.
