Propex Fabrics is the leading manufacturer of woven and non-woven polypropylene carpet backing and industrial fabrics. With the strength of our company in our over 3,500 employees, we provide products with consistent high quality, on time and at the right price. We are engaged with our customers to work to develop new and improved products and business solutions that solve their toughest challenges.
With our history beginning in the early 1960's as Patchogue Plymouth, we have consistently introduced innovative carpet backings and industrial fabrics to our markets. In 1966, we introduced Polybac® primary carpet backing, and followed shortly thereafter with Polybac® FLW. Both products are still the most popular primary backings used in the market.
In the early 1970s, we developed Actionbac®, the first commercially available synthetic secondary backing that revolutionized the carpet industry. During the 1990s, we created a totally thermoplastic composite backing system, Adbac®.
And continuing in our rich history, MatrixÔ was launched in January 2001 to combine dimensional stability and tuftability in one primary carpet backing for exceptional performance in product design and during manufacturing.
Propex Fabrics is also the largest geotextile manufacturer in the world, and has been producing them since 1966. As the industry leader, constant research and development of engineering solutions will continue to make geotextiles a vital and widely used fabric application for environmental and engineering challenges. With product names, like Petromat®, Petrotac®, PetroGrid®, and Proguard®, we provide high quality civil engineering fabrics used in roadways, paving, retaining walls, subsurface drainage, waste containment, erosion control sediment control and railroad stabilization applications.
Also in the late 1960's, Propex Fabrics started providing woven polypropylene fabrics for use in agricultural packaging, like cotton bale, and industrial and construction packaging like synthetic bale and bulk bags.
Then in 1980, Propex Fabrics introduced its wide variety of furniture, bedding and automotive products, providing fabrics which allow you to sit and sleep comfortably and beautifully. Such fabrics are used in applications like chairs, sofas and mattresses along with seating in automobiles.
Today, Propex Fabrics continues our long tradition of innovation by focusing our efforts on our customers, and more specifically, on our customers' needs. It's a philosophy that enables us to create newer, more advanced products and business solutions-both now and in the future. – less
