I work in the Recruiting arm of the company, based in Irvine, Ca. In this office, there is a high energy vibe and a strong team spirit. Extra curricular team-building events are commonplace. Prospect Morgtage is one of the worst organized and ran companies that I have ever worked for, an indifferent and uncaring managment, and no oppertunity for advancement

As a Loan Officer Trainee, you will be flown to LA where Prospect Mortgage trains you for the job. They will pay for the hotel you stay at and your flight to LA. Additionally training is paid and they cover the cost of your hotel while in training.

One you get back to your home location, you work with your mentor to learn the business and study to – more... pass a State and Federal exam that allows you to legally originate loans. – less

Being an employee, I always make it a point to learn new things everyday so I tried to accept responsibilities beyond my job description and find it easy to multi-task, switching from one duty to another.

I have worked in the business for 30 years and I have never been treated as poorly as I had been treated at Prospect. They micromanage to the point that you cannot do your job as they are constantly giving you reports and having meetings. Managment is terrible.

good culture and great training ,, fairly new company and high turnover

I spend a good bit of my day researching production issues and providing solutions in rectifying the issues. The rest of the time I spend in gathering requirements, building use cases, testing and meeting with stakeholders. The BA Team started with just 2 of us and has since grown to 4 within the last few months. Needless to say, the workload has been – more... rather heavy for quite some time. In the past 8 months I've completed an average of 10 business requirements per month with only 2 requiring re-work. The hardest part of my job with Prospect Mtg is not being able to help every end user that contacts me for assistance. The most enjoyable part of my job is seeing a project come together and being able to alleviate users pain points. – less

Prospect Mortgage was a great work experience for me. They were patient with me and extremely friendly. They made me feel like part of a family. I would start work at 8:00am. I would answer phones, schedule appointments, file alpha/numerical, data entry, and deal with customers on a daily basis. I loved it! The managers were great to work with! LEARN A LOT, GOOD MANAGEMENT, PRODUCTIVE COMPANY, MUST BE FAMILIAR WITH EXCEL AND WORD

When I was apart of this company, a typical day was nice, and sometimes busy. I have learned many skills from working this position and with this company. Such as, scanning multiple kinds of files, logging them into the computer, scanning them into the computer, different kinds of paperwork that were from loans that needed to be recorded into the computer, – more... and more. The management was well, everyone was working, employees enjoyed most of their days, and my boss instructed me on what to do and how to do it. My co-workers were slightly friendly; the ones I worked next to. However, over all the other emplyees were friendly. The hardest part of the job was to get use to a new skill, which as I continued, I got better and faster. The most enjoyable time of the job was being with co-workers, and learning new skills on the job. – less
