The St. Vincent hospital is a wonderful place to learn. They are interested in a quality study for every patient. The organized variety is especially pleasant as one day the focus may be inpatient, the next outpatients and the next operating room patients but at the beginning of each day everyone knows the primary role they will fill for the day. In – more... addition while ones primary role is dictated there is flexibility to accommodate the needs of ones coworkers needs regardless if it is personal like a doctors appointment or a patient that needs extra time for a proper exam. The team environment gives the best of patient care. While it is sometimes difficult to provide a diagnostic study the extra time with patients is highly enjoyable. My favorite part is the always the patients if they are grumpy or cheerful seeing that I care about them makes their day better. – less

In the 22 years I invested in Providence Health and Services I've learned to deliver compassion be empathetic to the dispositions my patients were in , provide comfort to family member and teach other assistants the value of working in this industry

The company as a whole was well organized. People were very helpful and nice

I performed ADL's, completed cycle fill for equipment and supply, took vitals, completed electronic charting daily. I learned how to not only do cycle fill concerning medication but also equipment and supply and budget according to medicare guidelines. Management was supportive of growth. I've been looking for a position to allow me to do program development and supervision in a healthcare system. I have good leadership skills

Well what kept me there so long was my co-workers I worked with the nicest people you would ever want to meet. Management I feel did not take problems seriously enough and when the problem was not resolved I would take it to upper management. Things would change for a while and then back to bad habits.This was part of my job being PM Supervisor and – more... I took it seriously. The most enjoyable part of my job was seeing the client happy. It could be the littlest thing that was so important to them and would take only a few seconds of your time to put a smile on their face. The hardest part when one of your favorite Clients ( OOPS not suppose to have favorites ) would go meet the Lord. I do have to say I learned a lot while at providence. I started out in the dishroom and they approached me wanting to know if I would be interest in becoming a CDM. during my time as a CDM I was learning everyday.
A typical day at work was very busy with all new admits, Clinical and always trying to meet Clients needs. I could go on and on.It was such a fun part of my life working with the best people and most of all the wonderful Clients that I met and still keep in touch with some of them and a couple were there for Rehab. The hardest part of this job is it's a challenge in itself. I work with children with developmental disabiltiies. I've learned a lot about in a short period of time. I enjoy helping others and there are many programs set in place for us to do that with the kids. Management is very supportive and understanding, a lot of training available.

I worked for this company for 3 yrs and the company itself is a great starter company. Team members has chances to gain knowledge but little growth with in company.

Providence is a great organization, true to their Mission statement to care for the poor and vulnerable in Jesus's name.

I enjoyed taken care of patients as well as working with my co workers and managers, leaving my position due to car accident was the hardest thing to do and most enjoyable part would be helping each patient no matter what the case may be. Learned about each patient and the different needs each person needed.

A typical day at work you clock in and out, and use Kronos to chart all legal documents pertaining to healthcare of Providence protected by HIPAA. Assist patients with dressing, hygeine, and meals. Monitor vital signs and change in condition. Prep room and finish initial information paperwork for newly admitted patients.

• Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
• Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
• Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity.

I was responsible for making IV's for the hospital, which included measuring, re-timing, calculations, and preparation. I filled prescriptions, answered phone calls, made pre-packed medication to be dispensed, filled Pyxis machines, did some technical work on Pyxis machines, managed inventory on medications through entire hospital, customer care, as – more... well as patient care, and managing an accurate till. The hardest part of the job was dealing with some unfriendly staff outside of our department, but the most enjoyable was the life long connections I made within the department. – less

Based on my experience in the Lewiston/Auburn Maine area the supervision and education for job preperation was quite poor. Income was based on face to face contacts with no allowance for client cancellations. Insurance benefit was fair and vacation allowance was poor.

Patient contact via telephone and in person. Learned various computer programs. Management was fair and knowledgeable. Co-workers dependable and easy to work with.

Department has had three turnovers with management in just a couple years. One in particular favoring some employees over others. Communication not always between OR and CS.

I enjoy working in the hospital there are so many people that i come in contact with that are going through so much that come into my department and just the fact that i have great customer service and go above in beyond the typical "hi welcome to.." and engage in conversations to change there day give them laughs, it feels great to make someone else – more... day. Management is great i love the fact that they are strict it helps to learn. i enjoy my peers that i work with this job is really just the best – less
