Great environment for customer service and patient care
patient registration and admitting representative (Former Employee), Waco, TXDecember 3, 2013
Pros: able to charge lunch on badge
Cons: short lunch, almost forced to eat at hospital, entire hospital seemed to be against other departments
I absolutely loved meeting the patients and giving them comfort and encouragement for the period of time that they were in my presence, I enjoyed the idea of being able to lend a ear or a comforting word, or to simply visit those who had no one so that they knew someone cared. I like the staff there, but the most important part of my day was the patients. – more... I think that the hospital would have the feel of a whole unit if the departments would all work together and not seem to thrive on the mistakes of other departments. They put on a great face to the public, but there is a lot of back biting behind closed doors. – less

Cons: benefits are decreasing and no cost of living raise yet
Work 12hr.shifts, learn that there is no certain type of person I can't work with ,management in my department is still trying to learn new system, coworkers are great, hardest part is when a doctor or nurse need something for a paitent and Ican't provide them with it due to it not being in our warehouse, most enjoyable is being able to put a smile on – more... someone elses face. – less

Very difficult atmosphere
Accounting Analyst (Former Employee), Waco, TexasApril 11, 2013
The Hospital has been in a transition for quite awhile.
Lots of turnover in the Accounting Department.
Very hard on their employees.
Work/Life Balance does not exist.

Providence was a wonderful place to work.
Coding/Billing Liaison (Former Employee), Waco, TXJanuary 10, 2013
I would start my day off at Providence by running reports. I would get the Doctor's chart together and deliver to the correct location. Make sure the Doctor's would do as they were instructed by Coders. Also would do other reports . On those reports I would have to determine if the accounts were a duplicate or why they have not been yet billed. I would – more... also answer telephones, file, and other duties as needed. – less
