In addition, PSC also offers oilfield services both onshore and offshore along the US Gulf Coast.
The company manages more than 15 treatment, storage, disposal, and transfer facilities and has expanded its business through organic growth and acquisitions.
It is headquartered in Houston, and operates more than 100 total facilities across North America (US, Mexico, and Puerto Rico) located strategically for rapid deployment in times of emergency.
The company leverages its deep portfolio of skills and its multiple locations to deliver integrated, customized sets of services and technologies to meet its clients' industrial service and environmental service needs.
Strengthening its national footprint as an environmental services provider, in 2010 PSC acquired California based-waste services firm General Environment Management (which also has operations in Washington State).
PSC was founded in 1991 as Philip Environmental. In 2002 it combined its industrial cleaning businesses with its environmental services operations. The company filed for bankruptcy in 2003, and emerged from it the following year.
Former PSC CEO Robert Waxman was convicted in a Canadian court in 2011 on six counts of fraud and one charge of theft in connection with a series of fraudulent trades dating back to 1996. Waxman (along with other company officials) was accused of cheating PSC through a series of bogus copper cathode trades that eventually forced the company into bankruptcy.
