Layoffs every year... need I say more?
nolonger (Current Employee), blaine, mn – April 11, 2013
Cons: opportunities to find a new job, elsewhere, abound
See the summary. They lay off employees and then offer them their old jobs back, as contractors, with no benefits. Very bad management.

great company...
Director, Localization (Former Employee), Needham, MA – January 14, 2013
I learned all about localization/internationalization/globalization, from all related hands-on tasks through program management. Co-workers were a great mix from many different countries. Management is doing a commendable job in expanding the foot print that started in tools for discrete manufacturing. As a program manager, I spent much time in meetings. – more... The most enjoyable part of the job was to meet with my direct reports, individually and in a group. – less

Just a number
Director of Software Development (Former Employee), Centennial, CO – January 12, 2013
Pros: great people (not the management, the regular folks)
Cons: only concerned in making the numbers for shareholders
I really thought this was a great company, but in the end you are just a number. It doesn't matter how long you've worked there or how talented you are, if your "time is up" be on the lookout.

They will never have high employee satisfaction with the way the management is out of touch with what the employees do and how valuable they are.

Porting and development Project
Senior software specialist (Current Employee), Pune India – September 14, 2012
Project: Thermal Modeler
Working single handedly on porting and development project of specialized product Thermal Modeler. It is used by satellite manufacturing company for thermal analysis.
• Ported old version of Thermal Modeler (built three years earlier) to new Creo product.
• These projects involve dealing with customer, define and implement the – more... customer requirements.
• Implemented many show stopper customer requirements to Thermal Modeler.
• Fixed the memory leaks which brought down memory requirement from GBs to Mbs along with improved efficiency.
• This project involves regular interaction with top-management, third party and personnel from various departments of company.

The hardest part of job was to handle this project single handed with minimum information in hand in the beginning and without any prior experience in Porting area. – less

MBA is needed for any advancement
Rather not say (Former Employee), Needham, MA – July 28, 2012
Pros: flexibilty
No MBA=No Advancement, compensation is so-so, executives have attitude of entitlement, unpleasant atmosphere, good ethical standards, anyone who is under Director title is doing the job of two or more people, shareholder value more important than employees

PTC offers it all. It is a growing entity in a competitive environment. The individual team members will enjoy recognition and feel rewarded. The top management has and transports a healthy vision of the future which is communicated into all levels of the company.
There is a big amount of hard work to do - it could be called a challenging environment. – more... But, enjoyable! – less

Great work ethic, tremendous vision on their product and market place
SVP Global Service Operations (Former Employee), Needham, MA – January 25, 2012
Pros: opportunity to travel, diverse customer portfolio, hard working, smart people
Cons: tough culture, you need to be resilient
I was part of a global effort to bring operations executives into the company. This was a difficult change effort for the culture, a culture that was totally focused on sales. At the same time we were the first in Massachusetts to implement SARBOX controls, and the country was in a tough recession. Implementing these types of changes were not simple, – more... and met with resistance in many parts of the company. However, we did succeed on several initiatives and PTC is better off for it. – less

Great product
Business Development Manager (Former Employee), Munich – December 28, 2012
ptc?? more IBM style than Apple. Company culture: People will not return your calls if they don't feel you have anything to offer in return. The culture is worse than Congress, favors are counted and traded like commodities. Full of long-timers who hold their offices and responsibilities sacred and are unwilling to change. Any suggestions for improvement – more... are treated as threats and result in manipulative backstabbing.

Overall it's a business run like a frat house and if you don't kiss up you'll get kissed off. – less
