Working at PTC was a great experience. I learned so much through all of the professional relationship I developed while with PTC.

I learned all about localization/internationalization/globalization, from all related hands-on tasks through program management. Co-workers were a great mix from many different countries. I really thought this was a great company, but in the end you are just a number. It doesn't matter how long you've worked there or how talented you are, if your "time is up" be on the lookout.

They will never have high employee satisfaction with the way the management is out of touch with what the employees do and how valuable they are.

• Involved in the design and implementation of GUI for MathCad Prime 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0.
• Involved in the design and implementation of GUI for MathCad 14.0, 15.0.
• Used C#, WPF and XAML to implement MathCad Prime GUI.
• Used Visual C++ and MFC to implement MathCad 14.0, 15.0 GUI.
• Applied Agile methodologies and Test-Driven-Development in the development – more... process.
• Wrote unit tests in NUnit framework.

PTC has an excellent workforce, who are motivated and fun to work with. Their broad product line keeps you engaged and provides lot of opportunity to learn and grow. There are lot of challenging opportunities as long as you stand up to it and deliver on your commitments.

Project: Thermal Modeler
Working single handedly on porting and development project of specialized product Thermal Modeler. It is used by satellite manufacturing company for thermal analysis.
• Ported old version of Thermal Modeler (built three years earlier) to new Creo product.
• These projects involve dealing with customer, define and implement the – more... customer requirements.
• Implemented many show stopper customer requirements to Thermal Modeler.
• Fixed the memory leaks which brought down memory requirement from GBs to Mbs along with improved efficiency.
• This project involves regular interaction with top-management, third party and personnel from various departments of company.

The hardest part of job was to handle this project single handed with minimum information in hand in the beginning and without any prior experience in Porting area. – less

No MBA=No Advancement, compensation is so-so, executives have attitude of entitlement, unpleasant atmosphere, good ethical standards, anyone who is under Director title is doing the job of two or more people, shareholder value more important than employees

PTC offers it all. It is a growing entity in a competitive environment. The individual team members will enjoy recognition and feel rewarded. The top management has and transports a healthy vision of the future which is communicated into all levels of the company.

Excellent company to work with, well paid, many versatile contracts

I was part of a global effort to bring operations executives into the company. This was a difficult change effort for the culture, a culture that was totally focused on sales. At the same time we were the first in Massachusetts to implement SARBOX controls, and the country was in a tough recession. ptc?? more IBM style than Apple. Company culture: People will not return your calls if they don't feel you have anything to offer in return. The culture is worse than Congress, favors are counted and traded like commodities. Full of long-timers who hold their offices and responsibilities sacred and are unwilling to change. Any suggestions for improvement – more... are treated as threats and result in manipulative backstabbing.

Overall it's a business run like a frat house and if you don't kiss up you'll get kissed off. – less
