About Public Allies
Public Allies provides young adults with a unique opportunity to serve in local communities while receiving training and exposure to current New York City leaders. Allies have the opportunity to discuss current issues and develop solutions and implement those ideas in community service projects. In addition, one day a week, Allies gather together as – more... a class for training by local community leaders who share with them the knowledge and skills they need to become active community members. These weekly interactions help Allies learn first hand what it takes to build community as they work each week with twenty-four other Allies from different racial and ethnic backgrounds, religions and experiences.
