Daycare & Boarding Assistant, Cincinnati, OH - July 16, 2015
I take care of all boarding and daycare dogs as well as help clients. I clean the building, bathe dogs, feed the animals and clean the kennels and cat condos. I prevent and break up dog fights that occur in daycare, as well as monitor the play yards. I interview incoming staff as well as train them. The most enjoyable part of the job to me is the animals. I absolutely love working with them. I also love my team as it is small so we all are very close. The hardest part of the job is the fact that the pay is minimal, there are no benefits, only certain holidays are time and a half, there is no room to grow or move up in the company (I was initially told there was when starting), the maintenance in the building is lacking and it just isn't a place where I can learn anything else or move up in any way. I work 12 hour shifts and am only granted a 30 minute break. The schedule also changes every week and it isn't stable which is something I am looking for.
