Best and Worst Parts of the Job
Senior Associate (Current Employee) –  Hamilton, BMFebruary 5, 2018
Best Parts: People will always be the best part of working for an accounting firm, most are smart, willing to help and the young/large starting group can lead to being some of your best friends. Other benefits include the flexibility to work from home and to plan vacation/leave around client deadlines makes it easy. Most teams work under the assumption that as long as the work gets done, there is flexibility to where and when you work, after you've built the trust of your team.

Worst parts: There will be some days where the work seems insurmountable, too much to do and not enough time. Somethings that you do as an auditor are so mundane and there are days where you won't feel like you're adding value.
Pros
Flexibility, people
Cons
Hours during busy season

Great company, not great for advancing
Senior Associate, Management Consulting (Current Employee) –  New York, NYFebruary 5, 2018
Love the company. Really a great place to work and they have an amazing exposure to several great management consulting projects. The only problem is that getting promoted is difficult as there are only a few allotted slots for each level each year. The employees aren't set up for growth. The culture is amazing as it's very flexible and if you have a doctor's appointment, etc. you are given so much flexibility as long as you get your work done. The people are also one of a kind. Everyone is very close with each other. It's a good place to stay for a few years and get great exposure to awesome people and projects, but not a longterm solid option.
Pros
great people, flexible work environment, can work from home
Cons
growth is difficult, compensation is low

Experienced Associate (Former Employee) –  Chicago, ILFebruary 5, 2018
PwC was fast paced environment but it provides an opportunity to participate in various projects. If you perform well enough, you have upward movement potential. The benefits are decent as well.

It USED to be a good place to work
Executive Assistant (Former Employee) –  TampaJanuary 30, 2018
After Project FIT mass firing in 2017, too many of my colleagues nationwide were let go for arbitrary reasons that were not performance-based. Companies hire PwC for advice on how to do layoffs, but PwC did not take its own advice apparently. In the wake of all this is an admin staff that walks on eggshells and managers who are hanging on by a thread themselves.
Pros
good benefits
Cons
few opportunities for advancement; talent is not recognized

Long Long Long working hours
Tax Associate (Former Employee) –  New York, NYJanuary 30, 2018
PWC = People working constantly. No work-life balance. Directors/partners/Management has Huge & fragile egos here. So you have to be very careful not to rub them the wrong way or they will find a way to make your life miserable. Frat cliche gang culture. The staff turnover is so high because of the work related stress. No one stays here long because of toxic work culture. Btw, they treat Interview candidates poorly.

Never recommend this company
Tax Specialist (Former Employee) –  Tampa, FLJanuary 28, 2018
management sucked, unless you obtain a CPA or similar you will never get further than maybe supervisor at this company. Management changes very often you may have one manager you may like and then get switched to a horrible manager who doesn't like you because you like the color green and they prefer purple. that alone would give them the reason to let you go.

SENIOR CONSULTANT (Former Employee) –  Chicago, ILJanuary 27, 2018
The public utilities group expected crazy hours and full commitment to work, with very little room for work/life balance. They also put inexperienced staff into important client-facing roles.
Pros
Pay scale
Cons
huge time commitment expected
