Overall, I was seeking work with a company that allowed time for me to focus on my family, church, and community service with the same dedication, enthusiasm, and energy required for my job. Disappointingly, this job has become a requirement of 50 - 60 hour work weeks, including some weekends.
A typical day at work:
At this time, I maintain 2 job functions:
1. All Customer Cash Receipts applications, some Cash Disbursements applications
2. Hourly (Non-Exempt) Bi-Weekly Payroll for 50+ employees, including Web Time training (time-keeping system) for Hourly New Hires
What I learned:
I joined our Toastmaster's Int'l chapter and I am learning to overcome a long-held fear of public speaking. Wonderful confidence builder!
Management provides excellent management/leader training seminars, for all employees.
Wide range, from delightful *still in college* interns, to more seasoned, mature, fun loving seniors, willing to mentor and share knowledge with those in our group.
Hardest part of the job:
The overtime hours, with no end in sight.
The most enjoyable part of the job:
7 minute commute from my house:-)
