Queens-Long Island Medical Group (QLIMG) cures medical ailments in the Queens-Long Island area. A physician-owned practice group boasting some 350 primary and specialty care doctors, QLIMG was established in 1991. The group operates more than 20 medical clinics, as well as urgent care centers, serving residents in New York's Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. It is also affiliated with the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System network of acute care and specialty hospitals. QLIMG's physician's specialties include pediatrics, women's health, immunology, cardiology, radiology, rehabilitation, and neurology; the group also has disease management programs for chronically ill patients.
The company was founded through the merger of three smaller doctors' practices owned by the Health Insurance Plan of Greater New York (or HIP, for short). The doctors wanted to expand and diversify their client base beyond HIP members; however, the great majority of QLIMG's patients still belong to HIP. – less
