Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support Specialist (PBIS) needed within an organization serving adults with traumatic brain injury (TBI) and physical disabilities in the community. PBIS services are provided to clients who have significant behavioral difficulties and have had inappropriate or maladaptive responses to events in their environment. Behavior Specialists aim to decrease the intensity or frequency of targeted behaviors, and to teach more socially appropriate behaviors. Clients are located within Nassau and Suffolk counties. PBIS workers are paid hourly per session. Sessions typically run between 2-4 hours per client. Must have own transportation and be willing to travel to the client's home for sessions. Travel time and mileage reimbursement is available for those PBIS workers with clients scheduled back to back.

Education Requirements

Must be one of the following:

  • Licensed psychiatrist
  • Licensed psychologist
  • Master of Social Work
  • Master or Doctorate Degree in Psychology
  • Registered Occupational Therapist;
  • Registered Physical Therapist;
  • Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist;
  • Registered Professional Nurse;
  • Certified Rehabilitation Counselor;
  • Certified Special Education Teacher; or
  • Licensed Mental Health Practitioner

Experience Requirement:
Must have at least two years of full-time experience providing neurobehavioral services. Experience must be clearly outlined in resume for consideration.

Compensation: $23.52 hourly
