Can Be a Nice Place to work.
Night Manager (Current Employee), Fort Worth, TX –
Pros: the pay is good.
Cons: don't really get "breaks"., corporate is flaky., promotions not always based on work.
RaceTrac can be a great place to work. Usually the people are enjoy able, they pay well and none of the work is overly difficult. Corporate management seems flaky, and don't always enforce company policy unless it benefits them. Store management really just varies from store to store there are both good and bad aspects to any one store. Don't technically – more...  get breaks because they say that since business fluctuates you should be able to find time to eat in between guests, which is rarely ever what happens. Working as an associate is nice because usually the schedule is fairly flexible, as a manager your schedule is set in stone. Which isn't bad, unless you get stuck on nights. On night shift it is more cleaning and organizing, but you don't ever really get recognized for your hard work. Corporate management never comes in at night and the night manager position almost becomes an dying place for your career because it is extremely hard to get noticed by corporate for promotions. On the subject of promotions, RaceTrac is fairly good about being able to move up in the company and make a career out of this job, if that is what you want, just stick to day shift if at all possible. It will make your life and job there much much simpler. Promotions are not always based on the quality of the job you do, in this company, it is a very "political" game. So pretty much any suck up can surpass even the hardest worker for promotion. – less

very flexible place to work
customer service associate (Current Employee), Norcross, GA –
Pros: free fountain and frozen drinks
Cons: short breaks, rude customers
working at racetrac you get to meet all kinds of people. the co workers are great and everyone gets along with each other no matter. the hardest part of the job wilol probably be constantly cleaning, but you will always have something to do. the most enjoyable part is the people you get to meet and interact with.

A good place but...
o Associate (Former Employee), Baton Rouge, LA –
Pros: free fountain drinks
Cons: no breaks, no good discounts, and no free gas
Its a good place to work. Got paid every week but it is hard to want to go to work and not have to worry about a manager not doing what he or she was supposed to do, and the other workers stealing money from other people's registers. Not all locations are bad because the original location I worked at was the best. Every one was friendly, actually did – more...  work and the managers made sure everything was taken care of. – less

Good work values and discipline
Cashier/Associate/Manager (Former Employee), Plano, TX –
Pros: great hours, good people, nice uniforms
I loved this job. It was always high energy, even at 530a.m. The guests were always my favorite part. My co-workers were amazing people and this job really taught me responsibility and good work ethic. My managers were always organized and kept the whole store under control when things seemed to be going wrong. Everything about this job was some-what – more...  challenging but in the best way possible. This job taught me a lot and I was very thankful to have it. – less

Career Enders
Night Relief Manager (Former Employee), Mcdonough and Tara Blvd. –
Pros: diversity
Cons: negative comments, lack of ethics and professionalism
This has been quite frankly one of the worst career moves I have made. What company supports sabotage from store management. I was accused of taking "items" with no security footage and then the insult comes when I am told all of this in a return to work meeting just a day after I request transfer back to my home region. Terminated based on the complaints – more...  of two managers in two separate stores who collaborated in fear that I would eventually take their place. No more complimentary drinks to healthcare workers, off duty policemen, or fountain drinks for the very people that take care of the business day in and day out. The very core values of the company are being under-minded by those in a position to steer a region into a financial crunch that would depress even a fortune 500 company. – less

Associate then 2nd shift assistant (Former Employee), Lakeland, FL –
Will not go to them anytime, they do not trust you, or believe you when you tell them the truth, rather believe so called managers. I did get promoted it was great but then again theres a trust issue associated with manager specially if they smoke (lots of cartons of cigarettes missing then blaming on the associates).

Promote and manipulate only those with "Checkered Past"
Associate (Former Employee), Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas –
Pros: free drinks
Cons: never any positive feedback, your never fast or good enough!!!
Not professionally organized, like a business of its size should be. It's and old boys culture where either you are one of the choosen or one of the temps. They will make promises to extract more work from you and then promote someone without the same skill set or kmowledge as you. Consider your self disposable.
