Great company
Underwriter (Former Employee) –  remote, AZJune 8, 2017
Middle management would benefit from a shake up. Overall, if you're a contract underwriter your position may be tenuous but that's to be expected. If you are a permanent employee, it's a great place to work.

Dont get comfortable
MI Underwriter (Former Employee) –  RemoteJune 2, 2017
Radian is a good company but be prepared for lay offs. You are hired as a contract employee for 6 months but that will turn into a year, then a year and a half. If there is not any volume, contract employees are the first to go without warning.

consistent work to maintain a 40 hour work week doesnt happen
Sr. Underwriter/ Compliance and Frontline (Current Employee) –  Atlanta, GAJanuary 27, 2016
After 4 years of working here every year what is consistent is the lack of work, every year I have to apply for unemployment during the year therefore my salary of $63000 is really $50,000 losing $13,000 every year. The most enjoyable part is the atmosphere, the colleagues and the freedom to make your own work schedule at times
Pros
great office parties
Cons
lack of work

Good Company However
Underwriter (Former Employee) –  Philadelphia, PAJune 30, 2015
I enjoyed working there however, there were several layoffs within a few years so it's difficult to have job stability. That goes for any company however, it's difficult working daily when rumors are going around that layoffs are happening again and this time I was one of them.

Great Place to Work - Too Bad it's Long Gone
Anomymous (Former Employee) –  Austin, TexasNovember 4, 2014
Radian was absorbed into a larger corporation at the expense of it's collaborative and team oriented culture. Work was almost like family life. You enjoyed working together with some of the brightest minds in the business
Pros
Collaborative and congenial work atmosphere, Bright technical minds and high quality science and enginering.
Cons
Privately held company often led to a country club approach to joining management.

Fleet Credit Card Services
HRIS & Compensation (Former Employee) –  Philadelphia, PAMay 1, 2012
What a wonderful place to work. Had Bank of America not acquired Fleet, I would still be there.

Fleet was well ahead of all other organizations, we had employee and manager self service starting in 1999. We had diversity programs, salary structures, and great employee committees.

People were great, professional and worked collaberatively.
Pros
people, programs and leadership
