First sales position selling hi-tech products for a world-wide leader in the field of radio communications. The most enjoyable part of the job is selling top of line equipment the customers know and appreciate. I graduated from Clark Atlanta with a BA in mass communications with a concentration in radio/tv/film. I began working for a morning show radio producer as his assistant and then later became his marketing coordinator and public relations specialist. The customers were rude on the phone and the manager would not help out.

Working for radio-one was amzing but you dont get a lot of corporate help, support or direction... Its more of a" make it happen" and if you get it right you mite get a little recognition but if you get it wrong or if they change course then you are out of luck..

Great experience. Lots of office work and shadowing the DJ personalities. Spent a lot of time with the Event staff, which was like a street team. We went out and interacted with the public and hosted concert and other Philadelphia events.

I was able to promote events on and off the air by interacting with listeners and communicating through social networking sites. I learned how a radio station operates from sales, programming, production, and marketing. I saw how every department had to do their part in order for the radio station to succeed as a whole.

Responsible for directing NTR Special Events for Radio One that included; budget planning, securing permits, layout, credentials, website designing and etc.

Family atmosphere - Co-workers were very smart and intelligent people and always helped each other.

My day usually start with going to the studio and see what live broadcast are on the list to be produced for the day. I learned a lot about producing audio commercials. Management was really flexible. co workers are great to work with. the hardest part of the job is being called at the last minute to come to work to cover for someone. the most enjoyable – more... part was free concerts we were able to attend. – less

This company is a great doorway into the industry however longevity and job security can be questionable when you look at the amount of employment changes within their corporation over the last several years.

I met and created some great friendships with the work family of Radio One and remain friends with several of my former co-workers. I loved and still love Ms. Hughes the CEO of Radio One. I started working at KPVU my sophmore year in college. The staff was always willing to teach and they prepared me for other opportunities in radio and television.
