Rehabilitation Assistant (Current Employee) –  Ypsilanti, MIDecember 22, 2016
I enjoy the culture, clients, and staff. It is really flexible around your schedules and overtime is encouraged. It is hard work, it can be challenging at times but totally worth it

This is a great company. It values both it's employees and clients. You get time and a half for holidays and overtime. You meet new people, travel to different cities, and go on various outings with clients.

A typical day includes continuously interacting with all clients in the house to ensure that they aren't in need of anything and to make sure that their safety isn't at risk.

High expectations; low pay
Program Manager (Former Employee) –  Livonia, MISeptember 25, 2016
Administration made promises that were not full filled; High expectations; low pay; unpredictable work site; staff that were very young and not committed to the direct care positions; managers were on-call at all times; no balance with personal life.
Pros
Flexibility
Cons
On-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week; did not fulfill obligations to employees

Okay job, plenty of hours available. Co-workers are well to work with and so are clients. Job duties are not difficult and talking to different clients and families makes the job worth it.

Stressful place to work - executive management is bad
Employee (Former Employee) –  Livonia, MIJuly 29, 2016
Left due to work environment being stressful and punitive. Would not recommend it to others if you are looking for advancement of your career and don't want to play games of who is the most popular and why.
Pros
Environment was professional for most part
Cons
punitive management style, unclear objectives for employees, unfair yearly evaluation system, poor pay, bad medical benefits, little to no support for doing your job, HR director was corrupt (no longer there), weak CEO and president.

Job will prepare you for rehab aspects of patient care and allow you to advance through the company.
I helped patients with their ADL's and transported them to appointements.

Alright place to work
Rehabilitation Assistant (Current Employee) –  Farmington Hills, MIMay 17, 2016
The management is not very good. I dislike the hours I work and working every single weekend. They don't accommodate my school schedule. There is a lot of favoritism among management and employees. I do love my job other than those few things. I enjoy helping people.
Pros
Free Dinner, helping others in need
Cons
No breaks

Legal Lawsuit waiting to happen
Rehabilitation Assistant (Current Employee) –  Farmington HillsMarch 31, 2016
We administer medications. Someone could easily steal them. We are unlicensed to do so.

If you have any family or friends say goodbye. Very hard to get time off even if there is a valid reason. Can get written up for being with your child in the hospital.

Management gets paid less than full time hourly employees.

Things need to be updated.

Clients sit around and watch TV all day.

How can clients get better if they eat junk food all the time?

I see other staff use grocery money for themselves and never get reprimanded.

Midnight staff always sleep so never pick that shift. The clients know too. Hence why they run away.
Pros
free lunch
Cons
bad management

Can be a fun workplace if staff works together
Rehabilitation Assistant (Current Employee) –  Livonia, MIFebruary 16, 2016
Depending on where you work, you work with a team. The job is not difficult as long as you're able to read, count, and write. If each employee pulls their own weight, the shifts go by relatively quickly.
Pros
opportunities for advancement, overtime
Cons
open 24/7/365, shoveling snow

Management turnover very high! Company changes over the years not for the best! No room for advancement unless you want to be stressed to no end!

Physical Therapist (Former Employee) –  Ypsilanti, MIJune 30, 2014
If you like neuro, community reintegration, originality, and following your patients over the course of their recovery for more than the standard "20 visits" like so many payor sources allow, then this is the place for you. I had a blast here.

Team Leader (Current Employee) –  Ypsilanti, MIMarch 28, 2014
The pay for direct care staff is better than most residential facilities with this population. However, you must have a large amount of patience to work here. Not everyone can make it in this field. Not much room for advancement.

Assistant RPM & Day Shift Team Lead (Current Employee) –  Ypsilanti, MIJanuary 16, 2014
typical work day includes passing medications, attending therapies and appointments. You may also help clients with daily life functions.

You learn many things that can be applied to a future child care, clerical, management and medical careers.

everyone is helpful and friendly

Hardest part is creating a personal space, its hard because you become so close with the clients you forget that they aren't your friends and family and you must not overshare person facts about yourself.
Pros
free food, caring professional staff
Cons
its a in home style medical job so there are no breaks

Pediatric Rehabilitation Assistant (Former Employee) –  Livonia, MIJanuary 2, 2013
Not a very great company to work for. Did not like the schedule and they had you work like dogs for the little amount that they paid you for the amount of work that you had to have done!
