As a member of the web and marketing unit, the Social Media Strategist & Content Manager will write, create, and coordinate communications for Ramapo College’s social media, web, and mobile platforms. This position will support the College’s Strategic Plan and branding initiatives by working to strengthen the institution’s image, expand visibility, and engage target audiences including prospective students and their influencers, alumni, current students, faculty and staff, and others. Will serve as the day-to-day “voice” of the College and community manager in social media, providing both proactive and responsive communications. Will integrate institutional brand strategy through social media and web communications and is responsible for the social media presence of the College’s official public social media accounts including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Foursquare, Tumblr, Pinterest, Instagram, LinkedIn, and any new or future social media networks and initiatives.

In support of the AVP of Marketing and Web and the unit’s marketing and digital media efforts, this position will also help develop and implement web marketing strategies and campaigns in support of the College’s enrollment goals as well as other constituent group projects through social media channels, creative writing, and content creation. This strategic position requires a creative thinker and effective writer who embraces new technologies and who is able to collaborate effectively across all departments and constituent groups. Must stay current on new & emerging trends in social media and make recommendations for adoption of new social media networks and technologies to the AVP and unit.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Media, Communications, Creative Writing, Journalism, English, Literature, Business, Psychology, Sociology, or related field required.

Experience:
Up to 5 years of content development, strategy, and management of social media. Must possess excellent writing skills and creative thinking ability.

Additional materials:
Writing samples required – can consist of social media posts, links, blogs, marketing materials, creative writing, student work, etc. Please provide examples, via attachments, that will demonstrate the ability to write creatively and consistently for social media, marketing, and web.
