Exciting, active job, which involved meeting interesting people.
Ranger (Former Employee), Cimarron, NMJune 7, 2014
Pros: great work environment, met plenty of interesting people
Cons: few days off, long hours
Responsible for getting troops of teenage and adult hikers ready to go on a ten day itinerary, leading them through the wilderness for the first three days of their hike, and teaching them the skills they will need to avoid harm and maintain ranch regulations. Management and co-workers were kind and interesting. The hardest part of the job was perfecting – more... the position, since there was always something I could have improved on. The best part of the job was being in the outdoors and meeting interesting people. – less

newspaper life on the college level
Reporter & Page Editor (Former Employee), Amarillo, TXApril 7, 2013
Pros: great learning experience
Cons: low pay
Most days were long and some were longer. But I loved working on the newspaper as staff. I enjoyed coming up with story ideas, knowing what was happening in the community and developing content ideas. I learned about story placement, design and layout. Management was filled with fellow students as well as professors. We all got along well, teaching – more... and learning from each other. The hardest part of the job was dealing with students that didn't submit stories by the deadline. The most enjoyable was seeing an issue go from nothing to completion. – less

Once in a life time oppurtunity
Ranger (Former Employee), Esker Lake, ONApril 15, 2013
Pros: first aid, cpr, boating card, food handling certificate
Cons: having to say goodbye to everyone at the end of the summer
Lived with 18 other girls on a Provincial Park for the whole summer. Our duties were to maintain portage trails, clean up camp sites/dumping sites, cook, clean, and learn how to work as a team and be able to get along with others. Our time was mostly spent outdoors. We were secluded from the outside world ex. phones, tv etc. The hardest part of the – more... job was having to work in all weather conditions, and it was very long days of physical labour, using hand held tools. The most enjoyable part of the job was being able to socialize with your co workers and make life time friends. We have Ranger Reunions twice a year. – less

– less

Savoir être patient.
VRP (Former Employee), Lyon, B9April 7, 2014
