In 1900, Rasmussen College is founded by Walter Rasmussen in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota to meet the needs of the budding business environment at the turn of the century. Classes began in September of 1900.
In 1963, Northern Technical School of Business is founded in Minneapolis. In 1979, Northern Technical School of Business' name changed to Rasmussen – more... College Minnetonka campus.
In 1983, the Rasmussen College Mankato campus was founded to meet the needs of career students in southern Minnesota and northern Iowa.
In 1986, Rasmussen College becomes the first proprietary two-year college in Minnesota authorized to award Associate in Applied Science Degrees.
In 1989, the St. Paul Campus moves to Eagan upon completion of a 20,000 square foot, state of the art facility on Federal Drive in Eagan.
In 1994, Rasmussen Business College officially changes its name to Rasmussen College and the Mankato Campus moves to its spacious facility on Madison Avenue to better serve its students & staff.
In 1995, Rasmussen College implements an aggressive technology initiative to provide maximum computer access to students both on and off campus.
In 1997, a spacious new facility is completed in Mankato for the Mankato campus of Rasmussen College.
In 2000, Rasmussen College celebrates its 100th Anniversary. Y2K marked a century of leadership and innovation in career education for Rasmussen College.
In 2002, Rasmussen College is awarded regional accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association (NCA).
Another milestone, Rasmussen College expands its class schedule options to include online courses so they can continue to meet and exceed their student's expectations.
In 2003, Rasmussen College adds Criminal Justice, Banking & Finance, and Human Resource Management to its career offerings to keep up with the career demands of Minnesota.
