What do you think -- is this company going to survive and thrive? Are they looking to expand their staff, or do you think layoffs are inevitable?
How does Raytheon stack up against the competition?

Hi All,
Important question. I was told my job offer will be rescinded if I do not graduate with a 3.0 cumulative GPA. HOWEVER, the GPA is not listed anywhere in my conditions for employment in my written offer. Why is that? What if my cumulative GPA upon graduation is a 2.97-2.99? Will I really lose my job? If my offer is contingent upon my GPA why is it not in writing?

I went successfully through interviews with Raytheon and got an offer.
To my surprise I learn that Raytheon since 2006 no longer has a traditional pension plan for new hires. That used to be the main perk from Fortune 100 companies.
Also I lean that there are no incentives like quarterly or semi-annual bonuses, profit sharing, and stock options.
Coming from other industry, comparably Raytheon has 50% less of total benefits in dollar equivalent to offer.
Adding to that, when HR person found out that I’m a house owner they removed the house sell part from the relocation policy. Very nice way to attract potential employees!
I understand that in some areas of the country Raytheon or similar corporation is the only game in town, but other ways, what do you find attractive? What left from those strong benefits like pension plan and solid relo package?

I'm a mechanical designer who was recently laid off my job. I have applied for several open positions with Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems in Dallas. I met most or almost all of the posted qualifications but never received a phone call or interview. I don't know anyone on the inside to assist me. Does anyone have any tips I could use? Certain keywords I need in my resume'/cover letter. Contact names of recruiters or managers. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Does Raytheon e-mail block certain file types, like pdf of video files like mpg of avi? I know northrop blocks incoming pdf files. I might have to send some work samples of mine to a hiring manager.
thanks

Recently in a conversation with a friend I came to know that he had interviewed with Raytheon in Tucson for a contract position via a consulting company, which went really well, and at the end of the interview the interviewer seemed satisfied and asked him whether he was a U.S Citizen to which he replied NO, as he was a green card holder. The interviewer said that they are required to have U.S citizenship to work at Raytheon. Later came a call from the consulting company stating that they had forgotten to mention this and he should have said that he was a U.S citizen, and they have a number of contractors who are not citizens working there by just saying they are U.S Citizens.
I have recently come across another individual who is NOT a U.S citizen working there for the past few months.
I am surprised about the lack of utter disregard by these companies on security, and misrepresenting the candidates they are sending to work there and now citizens like me have to loose jobs to non citizens, precisely when these jobs require citizenship. Can someone report this to Raytheon HR and have the contractors' citizenship validated? Someone is not doing their job, either the HR at Raytheon, or the Consulting companies like CSC and their third party consulting firms. What is the exact mailing address for Raytheon in Tucson?

Quick question for anyone that has an direct experience or knew someone that held a position as a Test engineer for Raytheon. The job description is pretty general, and would like to know a little more information about what a test engineer really does there.
It says that one will be testing Unix and windows based systems, and develop automated test scripts.
Seems like an interesting job to me. I will be interviewing for a position later this week, and was just wanted more insight before I walked in only knowing the description online. I understand there is only so much one can say about it. Just wanted to know if it actually is an interesting job, how demanding is it, and is there a carrer path, and be able to move forward from the entry level position later down the road.
