Competitive, Challenging Workplace.
Media Planner (Former Employee) –  Seattle, WAMarch 15, 2017
For the most part it is what you might think of a world wide marketing agency. Competitive, challenging with layers of bureaucracy. Recent acquisition/merger with Sapient, has changed things. Difficult clients not managed well making client management very hard.
Pros
Decent Culture
Cons
long days, demanding clients.

In flux
Senior Presentation Layer Architect (Current Employee) –  New York, NYMarch 4, 2017
We've been merged so the culture is different than what it used to be. It's more corporate now, but within the old accounts we are still Razorfish, so it's still a fun place to work, for now.
Pros
Great people, good benefits
Cons
Getting lost in the merger

Senior Operations Analyst (Former Employee) –  Dayton, OHFebruary 2, 2017
While working for Razorfish, it was quite the positive learning experience. There are many different hats that one role entails. Also, their culture was laid-back and there was a very flexible work-life balance.

Exciting Work - Hard to Advance
Software Engineer (Former Employee) –  Chicago, ILJune 24, 2016
The work itself is pretty exciting. You get to work on projects for some big-name companies and the opportunity to make a difference. The people as a whole are fantastic - usually very nice and helpful.

Work-life balance lacks as well as the culture as of late. Put in a lot of hours without a lot of recognition. Promotions are hard to come by and they've been losing quite a bit of great talent.

The benefits were fantastic and general perks were great. Also the office is beautiful.
Pros
Smart people, decent pay, benefits, perks
Cons
Hard to advance, work-life balance

While Razorfish is beholden to their parent company, they hold onto their roots as a fast-and-fun professional digital ad agency.

You work hard, play hard and best of all, you are recognized for what you do!
They treat contractor and full-time employees without any distinction!

Perks for agency side employees, support staff treated as peons
Purchasing Agent (Current Employee) –  Seattle, WANovember 10, 2015
Very poor office ergonomics (bad chairs, low desks, very loud HVAC system), zero work space privacy for those that do individual, rather than team-based, jobs. Prior to Publicis Groupe purchase of the company, the culture was one of fun, innovation, and collaboration. It has become one of "grab what you can get away with", no policy discipline, no planning ahead, and constant crisis management.
Pros
Pay level in industry, health insurance options, immediate co-workers
Cons
Poor management, very bad office ergonomics, lack of career paths, lack of policy discipline/enforcement, financial waste

Executive Assistant to Managing Director and SVPs (Current Employee) –  New York, NYApril 22, 2015
This is an amazing job that I am only seeking to leave as relocating to California.
Never had such a great work environment or worked with such personable and intelligent people who care about their employees.
Pros
free breakfast lunch, great holiday and time off, ability to sometimes work from home

Great people, trying hard to redefine company's identity
Senior Project Manager (Current Employee) –  ChicagoMarch 2, 2015
Amazing talent, incredible people, but an unfortunate lack of vision at the leadership level. Two years of layoffs have caused many people to leave, if they have not been let go.

For an agency, we have great benefits and tons of time off, but little ability to take advantage because teams are so lean.

Client work and peer interaction great.
Technical Architect (Current Employee) –  Seattle, WADecember 28, 2014
Team-level excellence is easy to find.
Leadership does exist in pockets.
Overall company direction and management can be confusing.
Company stability and management is questionable.
Bureaucracy layers are innovation killers and stifling.
Regional office interaction and cross-discipline capabilities are minimal.
Holding company groups sometimes compete with Razorfish which impedes the agency differentiation and competitiveness overall.
Pros
Benefits package, salary is competitive
Cons
Leadership and innovation

Social Media Coordinator - Acura (Current Employee) –  El Segundo, CADecember 7, 2014
Management allowed you to try new things, especially when it came to educating yourself. Awesome co-workers who were always willing to help you learn or answer questions. Razorfish had a ton of information on the digital media landscape and did their best to set you up for success when it came to learning new tools and techniques.
