Great people, trying hard to redefine company's identity
Senior Project Manager (Current Employee), ChicagoMarch 2, 2015
Amazing talent, incredible people, but an unfortunate lack of vision at the leadership level. Two years of layoffs have caused many people to leave, if they have not been let go.

For an agency, we have great benefits and tons of time off, but little ability to take advantage because teams are so lean.

Client work and peer interaction great.
Technical Architect (Current Employee), Seattle, WADecember 28, 2014
Pros: benefits package, salary is competitive
Cons: leadership and innovation
Team-level excellence is easy to find.
Leadership does exist in pockets.
Overall company direction and management can be confusing.
Company stability and management is questionable.
Bureaucracy layers are innovation killers and stifling.
Regional office interaction and cross-discipline capabilities are minimal.
Holding company groups sometimes compete with Razorfish which impedes the agency differentiation and competitiveness overall.

Tons of education on digital media
Social Media Coordinator - Acura (Current Employee), El Segundo, CADecember 7, 2014
Management allowed you to try new things, especially when it came to educating yourself. Awesome co-workers who were always willing to help you learn or answer questions. Razorfish had a ton of information on the digital media landscape and did their best to set you up for success when it came to learning new tools and techniques.

Talented people delivering results in a chaotic environment
User Experience Design (Former Employee), Austin, TXAugust 17, 2014
Pros: free snacks in the office, free drinks at going-way happy hours
Cons: lots of going-away happy hours
The Austin office is surprisingly disorganized and communication is limited. Rank and file often don't know what they will be working on until a few minutes before they need to start.

Great work/life balance
Technical Account Manager (Current Employee), SeattleJuly 7, 2014
Pros: occasional free lunches, vendor outings, work/life balance, benefits
Working at Razorfish you work with some of the brightest people in the industry. I have learned so much from collaboration with different teams and peers. I feel like the term work hard, play hard is a perfect example of the culture. We aren't micro-managed and are able to go about our days as long as the work is up to par and completed.

Debt Negotiator (Former Employee), New York, NYNovember 22, 2013
Through working with LHDR I have gained alot of experience in the debt industry. Also learned how to deal with irate customer issues when put under extreme circumstances. Although the company does not have the best BB rating, LHDR has taught me skills that can be used in various fields.

Technical Support Specialist (Former Employee), New York, NYSeptember 20, 2013
Pros: great work environment full of innovative people.
Cons: other than it being located in midtown manhattan there are no cons.
Razorfish has a great work environment. It's very fast paced but your are given all the tools and encouragement to be your best. Most employees are young, innovative and very easy going. Management always worked to bring employees together through events, meetings and other fun activities. I was sad to leave but was relocating out of state to Hawaii. I would definitely work for Razorfish again in the future.

Great place to work; great culture
Associate Media Director (Current Employee), New York, NYAugust 5, 2013
Great place to work; great culture. Throughout many changes, Razorfish has remained consistent to its core beliefs and cultures. You will learn a lot working there. However, choose the area wisely. Technology and creative are their core bread and butter with media falling last. Limited media accounts can make it difficult to navigate and gain further experience.

Challenging work with people who have lives outside of work. Work in multi-disciplinary teams of super smart people who don't have a lot to prove.

Hot Mess, But Enjoyable
Freelance Director of Strategy (Former Employee), ChicagoApril 2, 2013
Pros: the work is cutting-edge, the clients are top-notch, the benefits are outstanding - lots of paid time off
Cons: disorganization in administration and operations, poor leadership/direction - not the most talented in digital/interactive strategy, just the best salespeople
Love the culture, the pace and the type of work. The clients are leaders in their respective industries and the work is cutting edge. It is a fun, enjoyable place to work.

However, the management team did not impress and the collaboration across functions did not seem to work well. I found the company a hot mess from an internal organziation and administration perspective. But if you can deal with the chaos from the left hand/brain not talking with the right hand/brain, you will love it.

Interesting work in relaxed atmosphere
analyst and consultant type (Former Employee), concerned about confidentialityMarch 8, 2013
Pros: talented people, great accounts, good experience
Cons: no clear career pathing and criteria for promotion, interdiscipline collaboration uncommon, not punctual
Razorfish provides a calm, casual environment in which employees set their own hours as long as they do what it takes to get the job done.

This is a good place for learning lots of tools and best practices for your career. Long-term career growth could use some major refining. Management is aware, has acknowledged it, and put forth a plan to correct this shortcoming.

Co-workers are quirky and brilliant. However, no one speaks to you unless you speak to them first.

Depending on what discipline you're in, the hardest part of job is not always seeing how your work ultimately benefits the client.
