Excellent working and learning Experience
Quality Assurance Analyst Co-op (Former Employee), Toronto, ON –
Pros: gift cards
Cons: coordination among teams.
The work mostly starts with a brief meeting with the team and discuss the progress and the task to perform next.

All my co-workers were very helpful and they helped a lot to learn many things in quality assurance.

For the most part, RBC Centura was a wonderful place to work. I had planned to work there until Retirement.
Vice President/Manager (Former Employee), Houston, Texas –
Pros: annual bonuses, 10 holidays a year
Cons: management changed a lot
Since I began my employment with RBC Centura when it was very small, I had the opportunity to learn a great deal about risk management and many more aspects of Construction Lending. My knowledge and expertise enabled me to spearhead the development of multiple departments as they became necessary. The last department I managed included many responsibilities – more...  which gave me the ability to use my knowlege, experience and creativity every day in a very enjoyable manner. I felt challlenged and accomplished almost every day and had a staff that was top notch. Being a veey loyal and dedicated employee, the hardest part of my job was watching the deterioration of a wonderful company as the Market deteriorated and the loss of greatly talented people to layoffs. I loved what I did every day and feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to learn from many knowledgeable people throughout the years. – less

Helping to fine tune the morgage calculator
Snr. Financial analyst - Finance (Contract) (Former Employee), Toronto, ON –
Pros: friendly boss
Cons: contrat too short
Was assigned to review a mortgage calculator that a consultant had prepared for the bank for consistency and accuracy. I conducted the review by applying some accounting techniques. My supervisor did not tell me what exactly he wanted me to do, that was the hardest part. No co-worker was familiar with the calculator since it was new.

As I started detecting – more...  some inconsistencies and inaccuracies, the assignment became interesting. I was in touch with the consultants to draw their attention to those errors which they appreciated so much.

I learned that with a little effort, I can apply my self to any challenge to achieve a purpose to promote the image of my organization. – less

Great place to work
Senior Consumer Loan Servicing Specialist (Current Employee), Raleigh, NC –
Pros: no micro managers
Cons: the distance from where i live.
It's a great place to work. However, I have an hour and thirty minute commute daily that is wearing me down. I need a closer job doing, if possible, the same job with the same or better pay.

Resolving differences and making adjusted entries where required. Great team work and the ability to cross train in other areas. Very warm and friendly environment.

The most enjoyable part of the job is finding differences and clearing the general ledgers. The hardest part was after conversion after they implemented a new system.

Overall a very warm – more...  environment, management and staff work together in order to complete the tasks. Very comfortable work environment. – less

Pros: performance rewards
Fair overall, but positions ended and moved around a lot. They were fair in looking for other positions suited for you. Employer was sold to another lender and many jobs were displaced.
