Merchandisser, New Bedford, MA - November 1, 2015
For a typical day of work I would report to the Business Supervisor for my Department and mark the time sheet of my arrival. Next I would check inventory and organize my product according to the company's planogram. My next phase would be to remove outdated inventory and load it into carts to be boxed for return of product for the store shipper. I would then clean my shelves so that the Company product would be displayed in a clean an neat environment. Then using the company planogram I would then restock the shelves, organizing them in a very orderly and neat appearance for eye appeal and optimum merchandising. From there I would box up returns and mark the time sheet on departure. I would always touch base with the store department manager to be certain his expectations were met or if they had any complaints or concerns that they were addressed by me or deferred to my superiors for solution. I enjoyed working with each store manager. I developed good rapport with each store manager and gained good friends in business and contacts as a result. It made the job enjoyable. I also enjoyed greeting and helping the consumers who had questions about the product. They seemed to really appreciate good customer service. In addition to these fringe benefits of my job with Readerlink I met many nice people who were merchandisers of other companies. I gained new friends and expanded my relationship circles as a result. I felt bad leaving the Company, but I was making more money in a different business which demanded my time and attention. But I enjoyed the job so much I knew I would find it very enjoyable if circumstances led me back to the business of being a merchandiser. I take great pride in my work and love to achieve the goal of making my position a success for my own reward and add to the succuss of my employer who provides the opportunity in the first place.
