Job requirements: Required: - Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field desired
Preferred: - Minimum of 3-5 years of experience mental health or chemical dependency fields
- Expert knowledge of assessment, risk assessment, diagnosis and treatment for assigned population using the DSM-IV-TR and ASAM
- State Licensure preferred
- Prior admissions/intake experience
- Experience with Utilization Review a plus
Duties: - Completes initial assessments, coordinates appropriate services and refers to the community providers as appropriate
- Completes registration, verification and initial pre-certifications
- Participates in meetings and conferences as assigned
- Demonstrates the ability and maintains an electronic clinical management system
- Works in a fast paced environment and to make decisions independently and communicate effectively when dealing with clients, families, other staff members, department heads, visitors, external agencies and community members
- Communicates verbally and in writing with appropriate documentation skills to complete reports, utilize data and communicate ideas constructively
- Exercises independent judgment and discretion
- Oversees completion of chart audits and ensures needed documentation
- Ensures completion of insurance authorization for services rendered as necessary
- Determines appropriate support services for assigned clients to assist them in staying in the community and having successful occupational, educational and/or leisure
activities - Opens and manages cases until assigned to a clinician
- Participates in infrastructure development and services provisions
- Maintains appropriate documentation for local and national governing authorities
- Tracks referrals, intake evaluations, and psychiatric evaluations for timely scheduling
- Supports clinical staff by making referrals and follow up as needed
