The Recreational Education Center, LLC is a recreational facility that recently opened in Peabody, MA. The center is designed to offer many specialized programs for all children, however staff are highly trained special educators who can provide effective programming for students with varying disabilities ages 2-15. All of our programs follow an Applied Behavior Analytic approach and are supervised and designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts.
We offer a variety of programs including social and play groups, afterschool/weekend and vacation programs. During the summer, we run Camp REC, a highly structured day camp focusing on recreational, social and communication skills while embedding a variety of academics into the hands on activities. We are open 7 days per week offering Open REC times for families to access the center with their children.

We are currently seeking to fulfill the following positions:

Direct Behavioral Therapist

Qualified applicants will have a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology or related field (students and others may be considered based upon experience.) An understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis, child development, and behavioral strategies is preferred. Desired applicants will have a strong desire to work hands-on with children in home-based settings.

Job responsibilities may include:

1. Implementing Behavior Support Plans and educational programs.
2. Running discrete trial programming and natural environment teaching
3. Facilitating and organizing play and social interactions.
4. Responsible for data collection, interpretation, and program book maintenance.
5. Developing creative teaching materials in order to ensure a motivating learning environment.
6. Work in a variety settings including school, home and community

Pay is based on experience. Part-time Positions including weekends available

Support Staff
Energetic individuals seeking to develop their skills in special education, occupational therapy, speech therapy or physical therapy are encouraged to apply. Students currently graduating high school, enrolled in college programs or recent graduates can gain additional training and experience through their work at the REC. Individuals must have a strong desire to work with students with special needs and highly enjoy playing with children and adolescents.

The support staff position may include running the Open REC portion of the program, which entails interacting with children and their families, modeling play skills, and providing general support to families in difficult situations. Additional responsibilities will include working 1-1 with students or in small groups helping facilitate interactions, play and communication skills during social skills, afterschool and/or weekend programming. Support staff will also be needed to help provide guided support for students during our summer program.

Part-time positions including weekends available. Competitive hourly pay.
