RMR offers a very corporate environment
Manager (Former Employee) –  Newton, MAMay 17, 2016
If you are looking for a flexible workplace - RMR is not for you. Great benefits and pay do not compensate for the old school mentality.

HVAC building engineer (Current Employee) –  Pittsburgh, PASeptember 11, 2014
A typical start to the morning is first checking the building automation systems making sure all air handlers and condensing units are working properly. Also monitoring Boiler operations.
If there is a problem I take whatever steps are needed to correct.
Also relaying info to Chief Engineer.
The hardest part of the job is when we loose water pressure to buildings or power failures that effect daily business.
The enjoyable part of job is the satisfaction of troubleshooting the equipment and then repairing it in a timely manner that keeps our tenants happy.

Senior Regional Property Manager (Current Employee) –  Rochester, NYNovember 24, 2013
Excellent company that is well run with superb executives. Learned the nuances of commercial building management from a very successful Reit. Enjoyed working with co-workers in the administration, financial, management, and engineering departments.

One of the more challenging aspects of the position was the annual budget process during the introduction of a new software program while knowing the Upstate New York portfolio would be marketed for disposition.

The most enjoyable part of the job was working with such good people. I was able to enjoy much personal satisfaction in providing significant changes to office park common areas, fitness room, and landscaping.
Pros
excellent staff thoughout the organization to work with.
Cons
reit is selling their ny portfolio
