Originally hired with an understanding that I would be working four 10-hour shifts each week. I was already disappointed that there was no bonus opportunity, no holiday pay, and that I would have to work every other weekend. With that in mind, planned to seek a position with a different local employer after conditions of relocation agreement completed.
Notified after working about a month that I was responsible to cover co-worker's shifts during any absences: i.e. no vacation, just shifting around previously scheduled days off. Frequently made promises that additional staff would be added to cover ever increasing workload. Finally decided that it was time to leave when it became apparent that I was expected to regularly work 16 hour days, and there was no intention of ever hiring additional staff.
Quality is a joke! Out of specification product regularly shipped to customers to meet orders. Avian flu outbreak should have been a wake-up call that food safety and sanitation needed improvement. Instead, worst offenders were given promotions. The question is not if a recall will happen, but when. This place has Peanut Corporation of America written all over it!
