Request Foods is open to suggestion. The company makes frozen entrees and meals customized to customer specifications; it also manufactures products under the brand names OverBrook Farms and Zerilli's. Request Foods operates a 350,000-sq.-ft. co-packing facility in Michigan, and serves clients in the food manufacturing, retail grocery, club store, restaurant chain, hospitality, and foodservice industries across the US. The company was formerly a subsidiary of Bil Mar Foods -- when Bil Mar was acquired by Sara Lee in 1990, Request Foods was bought out by a group of investors led by president Jack DeWitt.
In 2008 Request Foods received a $4.9 million grant from the Michigan Economic Growth Authority. The company is using the funds to build a new wastewater facility and add some 200 jobs over five years. Also that year Request Foods signed a 10-year deal to make frozen soup for Campbell Soup Company. – less
