not a fun place to work
office (Former Employee), garden city ksFebruary 27, 2015
Pros: they take advantage of staff.
Cons: no over.time and they are nice at first but later they take advantage
They expect.you to do more than what you are require they like to take advantage by leaving you with all the work duties including paying clients staff. And clients.money no wonder why people said rescare is not a fun place to work they like to blame things on you so that way they have good reason to write you up or even determinate you if they dont like you. They always say there short on money but sure they go and use the p card on lunch for the office staff . And the job as office cordinator is not the type of duties they say You will be doing, they put you to pay all the bills and rents and if you mess up they right you up people take advantaje of you and be carefull and by the way if money is missing they make you pay it no matter if you didnt take the money and no.overtime for office cordinator karefull... and the HR staff likes to put rules on the other staff and is the first one that doesnt fallow the rules. But if you smoke its a good thing because you get to spend most of the time outside taking breaks. Good luck...

Not a horrible job
Team Lead (Former Employee), Terre Haute INFebruary 20, 2015
Pros: the work you do with the disabled is rewarding
Cons: no respect, no raises, no support
This place is not the worse place to work for but absolutely is not a good place of employment. They have been on a raise freeze for over 5 years. You have to have a yearly evaluation that the managers are told not to give you a perfect on anything or it would qualify you for a raise. There is not much room for advancement unless you want to suck up to everyone. The upper management does not care about their employees until they are called out on it. They try to lie and cover up situations in order to keep employees that are not worth keeping. I was a team lead and once I took that position they job went down hill quickly. They are not a good company to work for if you want a career but if you are just looking for a place to work to get by this is the place for you.

worker (Former Employee), Indianapolis IndianaFebruary 19, 2015
Cons: lots
It is always top down nothing from the bottom up. No matter what you do you are wrong. Training is lacking. You are stuck between management and the customers (state, clients) and getting them help to overcome barriers with no resources. You are required to provide toys for client’s kids and when they break them Rescare does not care and will not replace them. If you do not have toys for the children to play with you get very poor reviews.

Not worth 7.50
Direct Care Professional (Current Employee), Corsicana, TXFebruary 16, 2015
Pros: 30 minute lunch break
Cons: everything else
This job will definitely change you, and it will make you a better person. Your clients become more like your family, and they'll see you in the same way. However, this company does not appreciate the DCP's at all. There are no raises, so you're stuck at minimum wage. There's no bonuses, and the PTO sucks. You're expected to work every holiday, but you do get holiday pay. You will get hit and spat on. There is almost 0 chance for advancement. You will be stuck as a DCP unless a house manager quits, and you don't want that job. The company doesn't care about you. You don't work this job for the money; you work it because you want to make a difference in these people's lives, but most only make it a few months. It's a lot of work for only $7.50.

Green Staff with little training opportunities
Quality Support Associate (Former Employee), Princeton, WVFebruary 12, 2015
Pros: employees appear to care about clients
Cons: concern about client's personal safety
Direct care staff often have no previous experience and receive very little training. They spend the majority of their time in one on one settings with individuals with significant needs.

PCA (Former Employee), Stebbins, AKFebruary 12, 2015
A typical day at work would just be attending a patients home and making sure daily schedule is met. I learned that a PCA plays a big part in the clients everyday living. Time management is huge factor. The co-workers were awesome in knowing and understanding the clients needs. The hardest part of the job was to sometimes get the client to agree and accept needed treatment. The most enjoyable part of this job was knowing that I was able to make a difference in the clients home and that they enjoyed my company.

It's advantageous to work with a wide array of customers (internal and external). Diversity is commonplace. This is an ever-changing culture. Consistent professional development and personal growth opportunities.

Exciting work, great hr team but significantly under resourced in investment for company size.
Chief Human Resources Officer (Current Employee), Louisville, KYJanuary 26, 2015
Challenging and interesting HR agenda and culture. Typical day would be a review against goals , objectives and progress on project plans. Commucniation with executives, leaders and staff throughout the week on business priorities starting the week off with senior leadership meeting of top 16 leaders with CEO. I learned there are multiple ways to solve problems through collaboration and that the best answer often times comes about third in line. Co workers were engaging and hr team were dedicated high performers. Hardest part of job was the constant to drive culture change with lack of financial investment in people systems. and appreciation and utilization of external best practices resources. Most enjoyable part of the job was my team and the company mission.
