RIM is a fast paced, ever changing company. I enjoyed working with my peers and my managers. A fun environment and good company.
Intraday Specialist (Former Employee), Irving, TX – March 28, 2013
Pros: friendly laid back staff, competitive pay and benefits, opportunity for advancement
Cons: organizational structure and lax employee adherence rules, leads to redundancies and loss of revenue.
>Prepare for meetings to discuss KPI objectives for the day and week.Adjust movable training to mitigate any potential gaps.
Trend volume and aht and populate reports needed for week out decision making. Prepare impact analyses when needed, mitigate any intraday service level or staffing issues.
>Management is respectful and supportive for the most – more... part.
>Co-workers are competent and great people, a joy to work with.
>The hardest part of the job is the organizational structure that. causes some decisions to be made in a silo, and causes unnecessary middle men on projects that increases the risk of confusion or error, due to the cross-referencing of information.
>The most enjoyable part of my job is being utilized for my strengths and the people that I worked with. – less

A World Class company.
Customer Service Specialist Tier 3 (Former Employee), Irving, TX – March 27, 2013
Pros: free coffee, dinner pizza, holiday celebrations.
Cons: micromanagement.
This company is one of the best I have worked for. They provide you with everything in terms of equipment and knowledge (online) and provide the proper training to keep on par with technology. The hardest part was getting to absorbed at the expense of family time.

Overall, I would gladly work again if called upon.

Quality Assurance Analyst (Former Employee), Irving, TX – March 17, 2013
Pros: everything about the company was positive
I enjoyed working at RIM, until lay-offs started. I would recommend this company, however, they no longer have an office in Irving. The salary was good, but the healthcare was EXCEPTIONAL!

BlackBerry Partner Technical Support Specialist (Former Employee), Irving, TX – February 7, 2013
Pros: great pay & benefits
Cons: terrible schedules with no flexibility, not single parent friendly
The culture of RIM is wonderful. Very understanding of different cultures and faiths. However they are so focussed on the customer that they forget to think outside of the box and allow the people servicing the customer decent schedules to balance work and life. Making for very stressful and depressive agents. Benefits were awesome, they hire the best – more... of the best. – less

Teamwork
Technical Support Specialist (Former Employee), Irving, Tx – January 28, 2013
Pros: opportunity to travel, benefits, incentives
Cons: change in management
The teamwork of the co-workers at the job made it easier to perform and more challenging. Each person brought something different and important to the table. When I first started, the management was excellent. They were able to fight for their employees and I return the favor by performing beyond my duties.

It was one of the Best companies that I worked for Great Values
Supervisor/ Analyst (Current Employee), Irving, TX – January 2, 2013
Pros: free lunches, lots of swag, group training outings, excellant benefits
Cons: n/a
A typical day at work was working with customer helping assist other peers. Consulting with team members, joking and have fun which made it a joy to be at work. The management would always have fun events for the employee to do, always surprise us with lunches, would always be there if we had questions or need assistance with customer issues. The company – more... always had some type of training that we would have to attend to stay on top of its new technology.

The co-works were always willing to help one another if you need a day off or covered. The peers assisted training other team members with specific needs that would make their job better. I would say the hardest part of the job would be dealing with upset customers and trying do whatever it took to make there day better. By assuring them that we would fix the issue and regain their trust that it would get done in a timely manner.

The most enjoyable part of the job was working with my peers and the fun that we had as a team and working together to resolve customer issues. The management would do anything to assist us the environment being very casual and relaxed. The pay, benefits, were exceptional it was like a second home. They say you spend most of your time at work than home Research In Motion may the job feel like you were at home also. – less

Best employer..maybe ever...
Resource Desk Team Lead (Former Employee), Irving, TX – November 29, 2012
Pros: great environment, leadership that you can learn from.
Cons: rim is in a transition period and needs time to adjust, launch new products and compete in the market place.
Working for RIM was one of the greatest learning experiences of my career. RIM's culture didn't allow someone's title to limit their value contribution, instead, employees are empowered to take point on any project or initative of their choosing with free reign to do so and rewards for success. Management was top notch at all levels. RIM has very stringent – more... practices when it comes to hiring and placement, the talent is obvious in every group. If afforded the opportunity, I strongly recommend working with them. Your career growth with enhance exponetially in a short period of time. – less

A nice and enjoyable place to work
Supervisor - CSO- Blackberry Technical Support (Former Employee), Irving Texas – November 28, 2012
Pros: good healthcare, yearly bonus structure for all employees, overtime benefits for the associates
Cons: n/a
Supervising associates on their responsibilities and communicating with them daily. Watching call handle time, After call work (ACW) time. Making sure breaks and lunch time are taken appropriately. If call volume was high, I would request the associates to take their breaks at a later time. Handled escalated calls when needed. As a supervisor you work – more... with different personalities and when situations happen you must act on them immediatly. I truely enjoyed working with my team and managemnt on a day to day basis. – less
