Great non-profit residential and crisis unit for people with chronic mental illness and/or substance abuse.
Crisis Counselor - Mosaic Community Services (Current Employee), Towson, MarylandJuly 22, 2014
Pros: free lunch and dinner, no heavy lifting, no physical involvement (e.g. restraints), free parking, flexible hours and shifts
Cons: the pay, a lot of down time, occasional disorganization, job security
As a residential/crisis counselor at Mosaic, a typical day at work could include leading daily self-help groups with clients who are dealing with severe mental health issues and comorbid substance abuse histories. Other responsibilities include checking on the clients every half-hour, assisting clients complete daily life tasks (laundry, cooking, hygiene), – more... helping to facilitate healthy coping skills for specific symptoms, writing daily progress notes, conducting admission interviews, and transporting clients to various locations.
The staff at Mosaic are diverse. Everyone seems to have their own unique style for interacting with clients and each other, which works well. However, the job becomes difficult if everyone does not do their fair share of the work and if the team is not on one accord.
The least enjoyable part of this job is the lack of job security. I have seen long-time employees terminated due to simple mistakes, while others (who have committed several more serious mistakes remain employed). However, the true reward is interacting with the clients. Treating clients with respect, getting to know them for the people they are despite their diagnoses, and seeing the progress they make are my favorite parts of the job. It's also been a tremendous learning experience for me to work with this population. – less

DRIVER/ FIREWATCH/HOLE WATCH (Former Employee), Baton Rouge, LAJuly 11, 2014
Pros: receiving lunch every saturday paid by the company
Cons: i worked alot and hardly had any days off. i would sometimes work seven days a week, at the minimum i had one day off.
A typical day at work for me usually consist of; driving the workers in/out of the plant, attending all safety meetings, arriving to assigned job. I have recieved a certificate of completion in Fresh Air orientation. I have attended several training classes such as; Fire watch, Confined Space, Fire Ext. and Hose Training, and Fall Protection. Management – more... was professional. My cowokers and I generally worked together as a team to get the job done. The hardest part of my job was being outside because of the whether conditions at times. The most enjoyable part of my job was learning more skills and earning more certifications to help me further my carrer. – less

District Matrix Sales Manager (Current Employee), Charleston, WVMay 20, 2014
Pros: tenured industry player
Cons: being a large corporation, is perceived intimidating by some customer/consumers
Morning meetings to start the day, check in calls with employees, ride checks, mgmt conf calls, reports submission to superiors, one one ones, IMs, customer two day living calls, employee ride checks in field, driving enthusiasm and motivation to increase employees' morale and performance.
Learned how to Multi-task at a fast pace during peak times
I – more... practice participative and coaching style managment
Soiable and approachable to and by co-workers, very inspirational to others and always see the glass half full vs. empty despite challenges. Always seekings ways to complete task timely and precisely despite work load.
Main challenges is the remote travel times one way to an appt and customers thinking quantity is better than quality.
I love training, motivating, enriching employees lives and perfromance, driving their inner abilities to be productive and an asset vs. an upset, every day different travels, meeting different people, social networking, protecting families and securing their valuables. – less

Optimum - Great Cable Company to work for
Commercial Sales Support Lead- Cablevision (Current Employee), Jericho, NYMarch 27, 2014
Pros: great benefits, job allows me to think outside the box. great challenge.
Cons: nothing negative .i am moving to atlanta from ny
As a Lead in the Sales Support Dept my day is never the same. When I come in I check the stats for the day (ie. how many calls were taken, how many calls were abandoned, if there are any technical issues that may result in an increase in the queue) Then I monitor random calls to ensure quality control and look for area of improvement to make my fellow – more... coordinators better. I am the only Lead for the evening shift so I am who my coordinators run to when they have issues with closing a sale or resolving a customer issue (ie. bill related or service related). I do not mind being the go-to-guy , in fact I take pride in it.
I Love working in Customer Service/Sales and am looking for a job where my skills can be put to good use and I could be an asset to the Company. – less
