Great Atmosphere
Receiving Manager (Former Employee), Dearborn, MIFebruary 14, 2014
The depot was a very large restaurant supplier that provided every tool that you would need as a consumer. My daily tasks as a manager would be to load and unload freight from various suppliers. Maintaining communication throughout the store was a typical task that I as a manager always maintained. Co-workers were always willing to assist and help me complete daily tasks. The hardest part of the job was leaving to finish my communication at Central Michigan University.

Not where you want to be...
Loader, grocery (Former Employee), New Orleans, LANovember 19, 2013
Cons: short breaks, bad management, the union and there's no communication
This place feels like a plantation. The managers all go out for drinks, smoke & miss with the same chicks. The General Manager isn't the right guy for the environment. Customers even recognize the abuse he do to workers. The secondary manager shows favortism towards Hispanics. If they work isn't up to part. He's gonna make the blacks pick up slack. There's no organization. The third manager should run the store. He's the only fair guy there. The union rep is gettin paid under the table just so the managers can hire and fire whoever. Don't even call the union. If you do, prepare to be the VICTIM. This isn't a great opportunity unless you kiss butt for chump change. Certain employees or untouchable because they all rub elbows together. Management over here is like working in the 60s.

Not the greastest place to work at
Cashier (Former Employee), Chelsea, MAOctober 23, 2013
Pros: union jobs
Cons: sexual harassment
Typical day at work would be, constant loads of merchandise and cash handling from 8:00am to 2:00pm. I learned patience, and how to manage wholesale items. Management is very unprofessional, and all go for sexual harassment. The male managers are very sexual and are not afraid to show it. The male co-workers are very sexually obscene. The majority of the employees are ex convicts/felons and residents of halfway houses. Hardest part of the job was tolerating all of the unpleasant things going on around me. Nothing enjoyable about it.

Corporate Mangement not honest
Branch Manager (Former Employee), Virginia Beach, VaOctober 17, 2013
Pros: store hours
Cons: low pay, no honesty, working conditions, dilapitated stores
Typical day starts at 5am and ends at 6pm
Work is 47.5 hrs a week but you are not doing you job if you are not there 70 hrs a week according to Corp Management
Corp Management cannot and will not give an honest answer
Co workers were great
Co workers are separated by corp in the way they are treated.
The hardest part of the job was keeping good employees because of the low pay from company
