Manager Patient Financial Services
Manager Patient Financial Services Home Health (Former Employee), Chicago, IL – April 17, 2013
Pros: great work environment, great employees, knowledgeable employees
Cons: none that i can think of.
Scope of responsibilities included but not limited to Home Health,DME,Private Duty and Hospice billing and accounts receivable
Converted 5 hospital owned homecare agencies into one centralized billing office and one centralized IT system to maximize outcomes and decrease expenses.
Reduced FTE’s through the conversion from 22 to 9 while maintaining accounts – more... receivable benchmarks.
This position was very challenging and rewarding at the same time. I learned quite a lot of new things during the conversion. How to order furniture, plan work spaces, organize business processes- streamlined them for efficiency. The hardest part of the job was bringing all the employees from the 5 hospital owned home agencies into one cohesive billing office. Bringing together people that all had their own way of running their billing offices. Working with employees and teaching them and including them in the planning of the new office and creating policies and procedures. Once all was put in place the office was a wonderful place to work. We all got along. I had two terrific supervisors and really worked with the employees while I was responsible for directing the agencies billing practices and revenue cycle. We had an office that was an open door policy- everyone had a say but employees knew that not all ideas were workable. And they respected that. My employees were always on time for work and always did their best job- because they enjoyed the work environment that I and my supervisors created. Their were rarely human resource issues that needed to be attended to and if there was it was handled fairly and strictly followed the policies we had created. The employees were never out of the "know" as to what was going on within the agency. Today I am now friends with my supervisor unfortunately one was killed in a car accident- We - meaning the entire billing office attended the funeral for such a wonderful man. – less

Challenging but eventful place to work, enjoyed my employement and associated staff
Senior Account Executive (Former Employee), Chicago, IL – December 17, 2012
Pros: wonderful physicians and staff, flexible work life balance
Cons: none that i could think of
Each day I would review the past day's visits to our Immediate Care & Occupational Health Centers and to follow up with my clients on the services performed. Management was very supportive and offered a variety of tools that allowed me to maximize my time while creating opportunities to grow. Each day was educational, fun and very rewarding to the fact – more... that we as a team made a difference to companies looking for an easy clinic to do business with but yet stay competitive with today's market prices on our services. – less

Looking for a new opportunity
Registered Nurse/Staff Nurse (Current Employee), RMC, Chicago, IL – October 8, 2012
Pros: close distance to work
Cons: short breaks and lunches
I take care of surgical patients (intraoperative nursing) in General, ENT, orthopedics, eye, gynecological, vascular, neuro and plastics.
In resent year we did not have permanent manager so is hard to have an opinion about this.
Most of my co-workers are nice, hard working, skilled people. The hardest part of my job is to work in short staff conditions – more... doing lots of operations without break or lunch. We have an old, outdated surgical suites with older equipment which many times creates problems performing our duties.
The most enjoyable part is the great satisfaction of saving lives in critical situations, working together as a team in emergency situation. – less

But Lately, the work load is increased because of budget problems. Hope it will be better after economic issues resolved.
