Reyes Holdings has a grip on two things that are complementary -- food and beer. The company is a leading food and beverage wholesale distributor, serving customers throughout the US, Canada, and Latin America. The Martin-Brower Company, a division of Reyes, is a top supplier of food and nonfood products for McDonald's. Its Reinhart FoodService is another leading foodservice supplier with more than 20 locations. One of the top beer distributors in the US, Reyes Holdings operates about a dozen distribution facilities through subsidiaries such as Premium Distributors of Virginia, Chicago Beverage System, and California's Harbor Distributing. Co-chairmen Chris Reyes and Jude Reyes founded the company in 1976.
Reyes Holdings grew to be a leader in the distribution business largely through acquisitions, a strategy it continues to follow today. (Since its inception, the company has made more than 60 acquisitions.) Its Reinhart FoodService unit expanded its territory into the southeastern US in 2011 through the acquisition of CONCO Food Service, which has distribution centers in New Orleans, Shreveport and Lafayette, Louisiana. CONCO Food Service distributes to places such as restaurants, hotels, schools, and casinos throughout Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Arkansas, Alabama, and Oklahoma. Its foodservice operation delivers over 150 million cases of foodservice products to 40,000 customers in 30 US states.
Beverage-wise, the company serves 32,000 accounts throughout the US and distributes over 80 million cases of beer annually. In addition, Reyes offers logistics services to North American companies in the food, beverage, and floral industries through its MBX Logistics operation.
The Reyes family started the business when it bought a Schlitz distributorship in Chicago. The company expanded into food distribution with the 1998 acquisition of Martin-Brower.
