Lacks leadership and tools
Senior Finance Manager (Current Employee), Lake Forest, ILMay 9, 2014
Pros: good compensation
Cons: lack of leadership, don't have appropriate tools for the job
This organization doesn't provide employee's with the tools or environment to do the job required. Overall leadership is also lacking and there is no sense of "team".

It was ok but it's getting worse.
Machine Operator (Former Employee), Jacksonville, ILMarch 8, 2014
Pros: every other weekend was a 3day weekend.
Cons: manditory overtime/12hr shifts/ lack of concern for employees for doing extra work without pay.
I worked there for almost 4yrs. Pay was good up until the point to where they started a thing called work-flow. Basically piling more work on top of people without the extra pay. That and taking people away that were a necessity and putting them elsewhere till they were forced to quit their job. They DO NOT care about how much snow is outside they DO – more... NOT close the plant for nothing except a couple holidays. And then they'll ask you to come in for those as well. From what I hear its about to get worse. Glad I left when I did because the more and more I was there, the more I see they care less and less about their Machine Operators. There used to be one person per line on a four line mod. Now there is two. One person runs two lines and one packaging equipment machine as well as the other guy on his side of the mod. They give you a radio in the middle of the mod. (the help chain) for help but the NTLs are usually on break or doing a change over else where. Then they say that its team work and we have to pull together.....where's the team? You took half the players away! But I hear they're shooting for one person per Mod. now. So I'm out looking for a new job before get more piled on work that I don't get paid for. – less

Long hours with little rest. Poor management.
Machine Operator (Former Employee), Temple, TXJuly 29, 2013
Pros: pay is in line with other manufactures in this area.
Cons: poor leadership and stress without adequate rest periods.
When Reynolds bought PACTIV corporation a lot of the benefits were reduced or eliminated. Management's culture changed and a feeling of panic seemed to prevail. Employees were good to work with and production was maintained or increased despite anxiety created. Lunch hours were reduced from 1 hour to half hour. Breaks were reduced from once every 2 – more... hours to 2 in a 12 hour shift.
Turnover is very high. – less

Operator-B (Current Employee), Jacksonville, ILFebruary 28, 2013
Pros: gift cards and excellent health coverage
Cons: physically demanding
This job is physically demanding and I enjoy that. I am constantly moving and needing to keep things well stocked. There are new things everyday that I learn how to do, as this is my first year in this industry. Working for this company is rewarding. There are very good health benefits and opportunities for advancement for those interested in making – more... this industry their life dream. – less

Machine Assistant (Former Employee), Weyauwega, WIJune 6, 2012
Pros: good co-workers
Cons: long hours
Typical Day was a 12 hour shift. 2 days on 2 days off and everyother weekend. Long hours but plenty of days off. Management was alright for the most part. The management needs to spend more time on the floor talking to operators about problems with machines in order to resolve them. Learned about the plastic extrusion process, just in time delivery, – more... and alot about quality assurence. – less
