I would not trust this Company

Worked for them for many years. They offer little to no training, no advancement or raises, and if you make too much money they fire you so their bottom line looks better so they can sell the business.
I've worked for a few Insurance Companies and this was my worst experience.
Pros
The money was good for a while, no commute very nice town.
Cons
No advancement, no raises, pretty much a sweatshop of insurance.

Very negative work atmosphere, unrealistic work & timeline expectations, poor salary for work required of position. Management is very poor and dismissive of Employee input even when Employee's are engaged for input from said Management. Intolerant and abusive atmosphere generated by Management

Started out as a mail clerk and was promoted to a underwriter. Learn how to become a receptionist. Participated in company activities and special classes for advance training. Also was promoted to office admin.

Productive, Competitive, and Fast Paced

Typical work day in the office - insurance quote, market, follow up, account management, meetings with clients, and carrier underwriters.

In the past 10 months, I learned to be an Excess and Surplus Lines broker, manage and build my own book of business, connect with agents, built relationships with over 45 different insurance carriers, learned to quote, market, and bind different types of coverage’s from property, casualty, environmental, excess casualty, inland marine, work comp, and professional products.

Working in a small office of 7 people, one manager, made the daily environment almost family like. My manager walked a thin line of professionalism and personal. I admire the success level of my manager, but the training that was put into play was lacking.

Learning to do a new job with little or no training was the most difficult part of the job, but also the challenge of learning it on my own and having successful accounts and programs come together from my effort was also the most enjoyable.

My position is being consolidated to a regional office. This was an acquistion and the Company (management) have been very upfront about their plan. They have been very good in allowing me to explore other job opportunities during the transition.
