Making notes of things that need to be done. Gathering notes for weekly meeting agenda. So each departments has the tools to be successful in their jobs.
Enter the office and talk to staff and see if their jobs are on target, sales department, catering department, dining room. You answer your emails and phone calls. Meet with accounting and work with the budget you have made at hand. I am a figure person so budgets mean a lot to me with projected revenue. I require daily sales sheets from the staff and we set goals.
Board meetings held monthly are Executive board,Board of Directors, Food & Beverage Committee, Membership committee. Finance committee, Ladys and Mens Golf Associations, Tennis Associations and other sports or workout committees. Ladys Card committee, House Committee. Approximately nine monthly meetings
Weekly meetings are held with Executive Chef, Sous Chef,
F&B Director, Dining room manager, Membership director , Sales and Catering Manager, Golf Course Manager, Tennis Pro, Golf Pro, Bookkeeper , I invite one Board member to attend once a month to our weekly meetings. They can coem at their convenience to any meeting.
I have an open door policy and am available to members, or employees anytime. I go into the dining room at noon and in the evening, I am tere when evening events start and make sure the staff and leader are ok with the event and I ususally leave for home by 9 or 10 pm
The Riverside Club was a great experience because they needed so much in every department. They were very proud of their club. but put more attention toward golf over everything else. Even to the point it was hard to make some of the board members aware of how necessary the entire picture was to the County Club.
The Social Membership is very important to a Country Club. And perhaps more so today because of the service and work ethics in today restaurants. But the little club sits on the River and it is beautiful in Carlsbad, New Mexico. – less
