The center began doing laser vision correction surgery in 1997, the year it was approved by the FDA. And since then, we have kept up with changes in techniques and equipment. Recognized as one of the foremost Connecticut eye surgeons, Dr. Robbins was the first in Connecticut to perform ICL (implantable columnar lens) and the first in Connecticut to do the breakthrough Crystalens procedure.
Robbins Eye Center has earned a reputation as one of the best and most advanced laser vision centers. Named "the Best LASIK facility" two years in a row, 2005 and 2006, by Fairfield County Weekly, we've performed more than 6,000 laser vision corrections.
Our state-of-the-art 21,000-foot eye center boasts the latest in technology for patient care. The Robbins Eye Center has its own onsite Cataract Ambulatory Surgery Center and LASIK Center. Our surgery center is fully licensed by the State of Connecticut, Medicare certified and accredited by the AAAHC. Patients throughout Connecticut and from as far away as Japan and Russia have come to Dr. Robbins for their cataract and LASIK surgery.
Dr. Robbins, who is medical director of the eye center, was named one of the Top Doctors in the New York Metro Area for three years in a row and is listed as one of America's top Ophthalmologists by Consumer's Research Council of America.
