About Rockford Park District
The Rockford Park District is a leading organization for seasonal employment, especially if you're currently in high school or college. More than 60% of our seasonal employees are between the ages of 14* and 24. We also hire many teachers, which is perfect for summer jobs helping people enjoy life at places like MAGIC WATERS, STANDFIELD BEACH, and SWIMMING – more... POOLS. We fully train, develop, and promote our LIFEGUARDS, and pay them competitive hourly wages.
*Employees who are under 16 years of age require a work permit, and all employees under 18 years of age must abide by Federal and State laws, and RPD employment regulations.
We have jobs where you will make a difference in the life of a child by being a YOUTH RECREATION LEADER, CAMP COUNSELOR, or an AIDE to include a child with a disability in District programs and services.
We have jobs if you like working in the great outdoors in PARK MAINTENANCE, SPORTS FIELDS, and HORTICULTURE. We have positions that require some theatrical ability, like telling stories to visitors riding the TROLLEY, or river history tours aboard the FOREST CITY QUEEN.
People get hungry and thirsty while they are recreating, so we have lots of CONCESSION JOBS preparing and serving food at MAGIC WATERS, SPORTSCORE COMPLEXES, and SWIMMING POOLS. Golf course operations are April through October, and it is perfect for retirees or a second job. There are positions for STARTERS, RANGERS, CASHIERS, MAINTENANCE, and GOLF INSTRUCTION.
One of the BEST parts of working for the Rockford Park District is a generous $200 EMPLOYEE ALLOWANCE to use at participating District facilities and programs for yourself and your family members.
