Nice group of people to work with, office manager and staff. The firm dissolved the department, let go attorneys and staff. They did not offer staff another position within the firm.
Pros
Work independently, health benefits, paid parking, involved with local charities, periodic firm luncheons, birthday celebrations
Cons
not much interaction between offices within the same departments, not much PTO tirme (earn hours per paycheck)

Large law firm
Legal Secretary (Former Employee) –  Columbus, OHJune 30, 2014
I transcribed dictation received from several attorneys within the firm. I worked for a firm who represented insurance companies. I was responsible for maintaining each file up to date. I learned a lot from this job in compiling trial notebooks and reviewing medical records.

My co-workers were great to work with.

The hardest part of the job was that sometime the dictation would back up because of the type of work we were doing, but eventually we would get caught up.

I enjoyed maintaining the files and doing the dictation.
