Title: Operator – Cutting Rev. Date: 05/5/2014
Reports To: Production Manager
Purpose: Is responsible for producing cut-to-size pieces for customers’ orders through use of company-owned processing equipment. This function includes staging of inventory and restocking of remnants generated in the cutting process.
Requirements include but are not limited to:
Proficiency in operating all company owned processing equipment
Documentation of inventory movement through the use of company computer system
Documentation of inventory movement on hard copy work orders
Ongoing preventative maintenance of sawing equipment
Inventory control of machine related supplies i.e. blades, coolant, hydraulic fluids, etc, cutting consumables
Regular participation in facilities maintenance with view toward safety and good housekeeping practices
Safe and proficient use of all warehouse equipment
Assisting Packaging when determined to be necessary by Production Manager and/or Warehouse Lead Person
Additional Job Functions:
Responsible for driving a forklift and operating and overhead crane
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to bend and climb and lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly
Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16”
Ability to make simple decimal – fraction conversions.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to use/read micrometers and calipers.
