Macaroni Grill taught me many facets to the restaurant business over my 17 years. People development, Operations Excellence, Building Revenue and then Delivering on the bottom line were important. In addition to that, great culture in a fun atmosphere.
Typical day begins with evaluating sales and financial performance, implementing any company initiatives, – more... and then verifying in the field all operations are aligned. My week consisted of 2 1/2 days travel or more.
I went through 3 Leadership changes as well as two company sales. The leaders that were the best empowered us as well as Coach, Teached, and Mentored us like we did our teams. Accountability and verification were important.
Hardest part? Competing at a high level while discounting versus our competitors.
Most enjoyable? The ability to enhance fellow team members and co-workers lives. Also, the ability to make people happy. – less
