Work Study Student (Current Employee) –  Salisbury, NCFebruary 14, 2018
A typical day at work is handing out mail for the three instructors above me in the office. Then starting on any tasks laid out on my desk or otherwise specified in an email from one of the instructors. Instructors generally come to my office to better describe the tasks they give me and how to go about completing them.
Pros
Flexible schedule, good pay, good management, friendly workplace
Cons
Only part time, not allowed to work over 15 hours per week as a student.

Administrative (Current Employee) –  Concord, NCJanuary 14, 2018
The mission of the college is great.

The communication between the departments is lacking.
Some individuals holding management positions are greatly lacking in management skills. Along with the lack of training for these needed skills.

The most enjoyable part of the job is the student succession and fellow co-workers.

The workplace culture is very diverse.

Student Service (Former Employee) –  North CampusJanuary 8, 2018
The most passionate group of people I've ever worked with. Higher management does not appreciate faculty and does not put students first. Employee relations do not exist and corporate employee satisfaction is at an all time low.

This is a good place to work as a faculty or staff member. The college has great leadership by the president who is very instrumental in moving the institution forward.

This childcare center was the best in Rowan County. It closed its doors after 33 years of service when the college hired a new president. She did not want children on campus and the center is now used for dental classes.

Foundation Director (Former Employee) –  Salisbury, NCJune 21, 2017
Overall a good place to work. People care about their jobs, and are committed to helping students. As with most state jobs, the salary is not competitive with the private sector. However, benefits may outweigh this challenge for some.

The schools automotive field is staffed very well with technicians who have worked in the field and some as master ASE techs. The shop is taken care of and has new equipment come in every year to help students, teachers, and work study employees stay on top of the industry while being full time students.

Lead Teacher (Former Employee) –  Salisbury, NCFebruary 21, 2015
A typical day at Rowan-Cabarrus was awesome. The kids were very happy, lots of learning, parent involvement, and community events. I learned how to prepare children to enter into Kindergarten. Management was great because they cared about the staff as well as the children. The co-workers were great to work with. The hardest part of the job was the day the doors closed and the most enjoyable part of the job was the experience all in itself.
Pros
Free Lunch, Great Benefits, Advancement Opportunities
Cons
The center closed down in 2010
