In 1989, Ron Simon started a new company called RSI. This small company, faced with entrenched competitors, had a substantial advantage: a simple, cost-efficient manufacturing process that allowed the production of top-quality products at the lowest possible costs. The young company also focused on hiring people who were absolutely uncompromising about quality and price control.
As the nation's home improvement culture expanded, RSI grew from a company operating in a 25,000 sq. ft. building into a national industry leader that employs thousands. RSI also set new stringent standards for its industry – forcing many of its competitors to abandon this business segment in the process. Through it all, the company held true to its principles: relentless cost controls, a constant drive for greater quality and value, and hiring talented, dedicated individuals and demanding their best.
Today, more than 5,000 people work for RSI, and its subsidiaries in locations in California, Kansas, North Carolina, Texas, Mexico and China. Today, RSI occupies over 3 million square feet of manufacturing space, and continues the industry benchmark for quality, performance, value and commitment to excellence – less
