ACCOUNTABILITY: The Nurse Practitioner works under the direction of the Director of Mental Health and Wellness.
1. Licensed as a Family Medical Nurse Practitioner in the state of California; Furnishing License and DEA # required;
2. Preferred two years of experience post licensure in a mental health setting, preferably in a psychiatric social rehabilitation setting;
3. Familiarity with Mental Health Recovery orientation;
4. Solid working knowledge of medical documentation;
5. Excellent oral and written communication skills, teamwork and interpersonal flexibility;
1^ Medication Management Services: Provide diagnostic evaluation of individuals referred for treatment; assess the need for medications; prescribe and monitor medications, as appropriate (including administration of injectable medications);
2^ Compliance & Quality Assurance: includes responsibility for all required documentation & MediCal billing; includes following protocol around storing and dispensing medication;
3^ Clinical Work: Develop and maintain strong clinical relationships with assigned consumer caseload; respond appropriately to crisis situations;
4. Collaborate with case managers, internal and external service providers.
