Cons: customers treat ruby tuesday as a buffet rather than a casual dinning restaurant
A typical day at work would consist of checking and preparing your sections and stations for a successful shift, catering to guests needs throughout their dinning experience. Constant running side work must also be done but is shared amongst the whole team. Once your shift is complete you can expect roughly one hour of cleaning your station and section – more... and rolling silver ware before cashing out. Cash is given at the end of each shift when you cash out with a manager.
Ruby tuesday offers great training programs for every position.
The management team is very helpful and assist in all departments of the restaurant.
Co-workers are easy to get a long with but tend to involve their personal lives too much in the workplace causing unnecessary drama.
The hardest part of the job is dealing with co-workers once drama is brought into the restaurant.
The most enjoyable part of the job is how easy it is to make money. – less

A great place to work! Staff and Management are amazing! •Check patrons' identification in order to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages. •Check with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems. •Escort customers to their tables. •Explain how various – more... menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods. •Inform customers of daily specials. •Prepare checks that itemizes and total meal costs and sales taxes. •Present menus to patrons and answer questions about menu items, making recommendations upon request. •Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters, and take them to kitchen for cleaning. •Serve food and/or beverages to patrons; prepare and serve specialty dishes at tables as required. – less

My typical day at work would be me cleaning the entire restaurant and sitting customers to a designated table/booth. I did not learn much because there was laziness, people didn't particularly respect others, meaning the employees. All I learned was that there's times of the days where there's rush and you are up on your feet all the time. The manager – more... wasn't really doing anything about the people disrespecting others. There were a few of my co-workers that were great people to be around and what not, but others were rude. The hardest part of my job was dealing with rude customers and co-workers. The most enjoyable part of my job was being able to interact with people and during the rush hours, keeping myself busy. – less
Restaurant Manager (Current Employee), Lancaster, PA – September 11, 2014
I've worked for Ruby Tuesday for several years. I've moved up and become a manager. The top leadership has made many massive changes over those years. At first they were great. Eventually they went to far in the wrong direction, many stepped down or were let go at the top, and now under new direction are back on the track to great things
Hostess/Waitress (Former Employee), Mason City, IA – September 8, 2014
Pros: discount on food after work
Cons: short breaks
The food is probably the best experience of Ruby Tuesday. Anything you get is delicious. Especially the chicken parmesan pasta and the asiago peppercorn sirloin. The garden bar is delightful as well, I love the croutons they make.
Restaurant Manager (Former Employee), Kissimmee, FL – September 3, 2014
Pros: free food, education
Everyday was different in the restaurant business. Each day consisted of team meetings, ensuring customer satisfaction and a clean environment. Some days included creating a schedule for team members or making projected goals for the month/week/day. The hardest part of this job was staffing. The area in which the restaurant was located was hard to staff – more... with great team members. The most enjoyable part of this job was the customers. I love to put out fires:) – less
Host/Server (Former Employee), Columbia, SC – August 29, 2014
Pros: schedule flexibility
Cons: host had to clean the bathrooms/clean windows/dust
The most enjoyable part was greeting the guests, both newcomers & frequent patrons. I learned that working on Saturday nights was a challenge because it was usually crowded. The hardest part was trying to please the guest while trying to make sure the kitchen did not get overwhelmed .
Waitress/ host (Former Employee), Sanford, NC – August 27, 2014
Pros: interacting with others and 50% off meals
Cons: short to no breaks, poor management
Waiting on tables was fun, getting to connect with others. the job itself was not difficult even though at times there were set backs and customers who were hard to please. Sometimes we had to work at a fast pace which I enjoyed for the most part. Ruby Tuesday had a poor management team. Managers were unprofessional and showed a lot of favoritism, and – more... were sometimes inappropriate. With my experience at Ruby Tuesday I learned to focus strictly on my work, and I learned how to create way to satisfy customers. The schedules although they were flexible they were always changing. – less
