typical work day consist of counting the till, setting up register, customer service, stocking, inventory, floor set, and zoning of different departments.

Is overall a good job, but promotions and advancements rarely come, I have been in training to be a manager for six months, and am still being underpaid despite the fact that I am performing manager duties. I loved working there, the people were great and I already knew how to fold clothes. The manager was awesome too and I got plenty of breaks. My coworkers were great and the typical day was pretty simple and similar.

Current duties include: receiving merchandise from vendors; facilitating daily tasks, and sales objectives to sales associates; handling customer questions and concerns; greeting customers upon arrival; operating the register; cleaning; completing and destroying necessary paper work; etc. I enjoy working with my fellow co-workers, as well as the customers. – more...  Trying to please everyone is a hard task; however, being determined and dedicated, in order to succeede and enhance productivity is what I do! I open and close three registers daily,do daily paperwork and make sure numbers are updated throughout the day. I help any cutomer in need and help put together outfits. I process and pit away shipment, do floorsets when they are needed and clean the store daily. I do any returns or exchanges and help answer and problems that may arise.

There was always a lot of clothes folding and inventory to be counting. I learned theres a lot more to retail than I ever knew and the management was amazing. My fellow employees were amazing and so fun to work with there was very little drama involved. well my time at rue 21 was very interesting i never knew from day to day if i was going to have a job. the boss that i worked under was very rue to everyone that she worked with. the way i was let go was done with out reason and to this day i have no idea why. there was no paper work for me to sign or anything. i was left out in the dark about all of – more...  it and my keys were taken with out explantion. then the next day i was fired. i got the run around about all of it and was told by tuesday manns not to contact the dm because she didnt like things like that.... – less

Rue 21 is like a family. You learn something new every day you work and every day is as enjoyable as the next. They like to promote from within so it's a good company to grow with.

Rue 21 was a great employer while in school but once out of high school hours and hourly pay just didnt cut it.

I thought it was a some what decent place to work at. Its definatly no place to start a career. It's a good job to help you get by.

Learned alot about merchandising and they were always celebrating achievement.

Environment was always up beat and always had something new going on. I loved working at Rue 21. Provided excellent customer service.

The atmosphere is laid back and easy going. There is always something to do, and you get to meet new people as well as learn a lot of interesting things

I feel like this one manager ABUSED her authority and has no idea what respect is. If you are young and cannot handle managing a business, don't.

I loved working there, they just didn't give enough hours.
