Enjoyed my time at Russell Investments
Desktop Support Analyst (Current Employee) –  Chicago, ILFebruary 23, 2017
I've been working at Russell Investments for the past 7.5 years and have really enjoyed working at Russell Investments. It's really true that it is the people you work with each day that make it fun and enjoyable place to work at. I cannot say enough about the culture at Russell and have worked with some really smart people and I have learned so much over the years. I will miss it!
Pros
Benifits are outstanding
Cons
Russell is going through a large workforce reduction right now.

Russell is a sales and marketing firm
Portfolio Manager (Former Employee) –  Seattle, WAJanuary 10, 2017
Russell is really a sales and marketing firm built by consultants and manager researchers. Russell is not an investment firm in the true sense of the words. The majority of management could not even do the work their employees are doing. Firm AUM has grown inline with market growth, no net inflows for a reason.

Good work life balance and intelligent colleagues
Associate Programming Analyst (Former Employee) –  LondonOctober 20, 2016
Compared to other large financial institutions Russell does not enforce a 70-80hr work week. Instead it offers a decent balance between doing work and having a life. There was a fairly strong divide between the quants and economists but overall I enjoyed working with my colleagues.

Americas Institutional Intern (Current Employee) –  Seattle, WADecember 12, 2014
When you join the Russell Investments team - whether as an intern or associate - you are expected to perform at a very high level. Your fellow coworkers assume you will know how to do your day-to-day operations efficiently and accurately, however, they are all more than willing to help if you need assistance. Any time I run into an issue and have to ask for help, associates are happy to help and teach. Coworkers are very friendly and very intelligent people which make for a wonderful combination. Overall, Russell is a great place to learn and grow your expertise on investment management. I absolutely love this company.
Pros
Great coworkers. Great experience. Flexible schedules.
Cons
Intern benefits and compensation.

One of the best comanies I have ever worked for!
Deskside Support Analyst (Current Employee) –  Seattle, WashingtonDecember 27, 2013
Although my time at Russell was not as long as I would have liked, I was on a two month contract assisting with the deployment of new machines to the users, I can honestly say that it is one of the best places I have ever worked at. As a contractor it is all too common to be treated as a second class worker by many companies, not so at Russell. During my time there I was welcomed by the rest of the team and treated with respect. If given the chance I would most definitely work for Russell again.
Pros
Great work environment, very competitive wages
Cons
Some of the users are on the very high end of the needy/picky scale

Leading consulting firm, opportunity to grow asset management
Private Client Services (Former Employee) –  Milwaukee, WIJuly 8, 2013
Russell has attracted some of the industry's top talent when it comes to consulting and manager research. As a leading institutional money manager and consulting firm, Russell has struggled to translate that message into something easily understood by retail clients. Products are second to none.
