Senior Machinist B, Chicago, IL - July 25, 2015
A typical day at work includes a morning meeting were you will hear about safety and quality. Then you will get back to your machine and operate any jobs left by the previous shift. If you lucky you will run one machine and if not the most you'll run at once is two. If there isn't anything set up then you will choose a job to set up yourself. Your pretty much left to yourself all day. It would help if you have a lot of experience with G code programming and trouble shooting tooling issues. They have Okuma lathes and Mazak machining centers here.
